    August Sleevers-How are you doing??

Hi there Augusters! October crashing here, hope you guys don't mind. I had my sleeve on 10/27 and now it's that time that I can start introducing eggs and some flaky fish. On the liquids, purees, I haven't really experienced the 'full' feeling so am looking to you pro's for any advice on what to experience/do better when I transition to solids. Am a bit concerned about messing it up so any insight from you guys who have recently done this would be much appreciated. You all look great, congrats!!!!

    Low Energy

Hi @acruise28 we were both sleeved on same day, I have lost 24lbs since surgery and I do have low energy levels as well and also eating about 500-600 calories. Dr said it was normal at this stage. I see him again Saturday and they will start me on some exercise and I assume they will ask me to up my intake as I don't see how at this level I can do much at all besides walking. As for now they told me to just focus on getting about 30 grams of protein a day. Hang in there and keep me posted, I'll do the same.
  3. Congrats @lpsouth1978 looking good!
  4. Hello everyone. Great to hear how we Octobers are doing so well. I was sleeved 10/27 and my weight was 237lbs, this morning I was 213 and I can sure tell. I have pulled clothes out of the closet that had not been worn in a while and it feels good! Actually, feels great. I had no complications at all from surgery, just a LOT of gas discomfort the first couple of days but not really much pain. I am still on liquids and purees and have no hunger. I pretty much have to remind myself to eat and while my Dr doesn't care about me counting calories I am maybe averaging 500-600 if that. But what I do eat I have no problem at all eating, just bored to death with it. Does this resonate with anyone? Now my big question for those of you out longer is what should I expect when I start eating solids? I have yet to feel full, though I don't feel hungry, and quite frankly given the amount of liquids I can easily drink it sort of surprises me I don't feel full. I know it's just my old obese brain f'ing with me but I keep feeling like am doing something wrong. My Dr said I can have a fluffy omelette tomorrow (Woohoo!) and flaky white fish Friday before I see him on Saturday again. I will also meet the exercise guru Saturday and she will hopefully clear me for some restricted gym time though with my current energy levels am not sure how much I will do. Maybe they will ask me to force myself to down more protein which for now they have kept me at about 30 grams, and YES from reading everyone else's posts I do realize this is low but who am I to argue with this awesome Dr who I've had such great results with so far and has been doing this for 20+ years. At any rate, any advice/prep-talk I can get for solids and hopefully feeling full will be very welcomed.

Any other gay sleevers out there?

Hello everyone, had my surgery yesterday afternoon and all went well. Felt very nauseaus for the rest of the evening but was able to get some rest and sleep. Have not moved from bed yet, I am hoping soon. Pain isn't bad, the worst is a tightness around my chest area which I am told is gas. If this goes away I will be much better. Doctor even hinted last night I may be able to go home today, if I am not in terrible pain and can drink I think I prefer to. The hospital is nice but it isn't my home. @AshevilleEddie how long did you stay in hospital after surgery? Is it advisable to go home asap or to hang out here? Thanks everyone
  6. Britney where are you? I get operated at 4 pm CET in Madrid. Best of luck.
  7. Friday power! Also it’s not lost on me that tonite at 3 am, or tomorrow morning I should say, clocks in Europe are turned back one hour. I take this as me buying time by taking his huge step in my health!

Any other gay sleevers out there?

Thank you so much and congrats! You look great. It’s 8:30 am in Madrid and I head to hospital at 2 pm and should be rolled into OR at 4. Nervous, but confident. I will have so many questions. I look forward to picking your brain. Thanks again.

Any other gay sleevers out there?

Krista shouldn't the focus be on liking yourself? On improving your health? As far as guys go, they are chasers out there that may not be attracted to me once the weight comes off but I will be healthy and happy and when the time comes to find a partner in life I will hopefully find one who wants me the way I am.
  10. Best of luck in your new chapter. Keep us posted, I get sleeved tomorrow.

Any other gay sleevers out there?

Hi everyone, wanted to say hello and hopefully find someone experienced in this new life who can mentor me, as by this time tomorrow I will be sleeved and starting a new chapter, in not a new volume, in my life.
  12. So good to see how great all who got operated this month are doing. Tomorrow it will be me, am actually feeling calmer than I was yesterday, let's see how I feel tomorrow. My Dr said I can take something he prescribed for anxiety before heading to hospital tomorrow which won't be until 2 pm CET. I will post from the 'other side.'
  13. Awesome. Congrats!!!!! Hopefully that will be me this Friday. Keep us posted and best of luck!
  14. Hi Britney, I go in three days as well! I am nervous too but I am pretty sure once it's done we will realize its not as bad as we imagined. Hopr, best of luck!
  15. I don't even know how to do this :-0. Thanks for the info, it makes me feel so much better. Surgery is in three days, nerves are growing. Unfortunately I live in Spain and sugar-free popsicles and jello are not really available. I do have a good amount of sugar-free jello I brought back with me. I know what you mean, I spend a lot of time in the US and grew addicted to the sugar-free popsicles, so maybe better we don't have them. I did buy a posicle mold and tried making my own, texture is way off from the commercial ones, I just basically get a popsicle shaped ice cube with some flavor. My doctor did say I would spend the first two nights in the hospital and he won't let me go home unless he feels I am able to. Thank you again, your words comforted me.
  16. Have you picked out a costume yet? I go in on 10/27, best of luck!
  17. Thanks for posting Bill, with surgery coming up this Friday this really helps. Can I ask you how your level of activity progressed after surgery? How soon did you start walking? how often and for how long? Where are you at now? Have you started doing any exercise at all? are you able to? These are all things that are on my mind so any guidance you can offer would be awesome. Thanks again and best of luck.
  18. I go in on 10/27 and my Dr told me the same as yours. I however decided, with my Dr's blessing, to do a juice/vegan detox to rid as many toxins as I can out of my body and cleanse my liver. I hope this makes the operation smoother and makes it easier on the tough first weeks on the other side, the day I wake up from surgery with a new beginning. Best of luck to you, keep us posted.
  19. Congratulations, that sounds awesome! Wish I could say the same after this friday, am pretty nervous. Question, if I may, how many incisions did you end up with? Was it all done via your belly button or were additional incisions made? Were you able to be on your own when you got home? I don't have anyone to help out and I worry I may need help. Thanks again for posting and looking forward to hearing how you keep doing.
  20. Good luck Hendeda! Keep us posted. I’ve got five days to go so jumping in right behind you.
  21. It continues to surprise how differently everyone reacts. Makes me wonder if we all have different tolerance levels for pain, if it is about your surgeon, how well prepared you are? Wish there was a clear answer but doubtful one exists. My 6 day jitters grow. Am I the only person to have doubts and think what the F am I doing? Get your **** together, work harder and in spite of all your continuous failures at weight loss you got this?
  22. Thanks. Much appreciated!
  23. Thanks for the info. That’s what I was thinking but nerves get in the way.
  24. Hi everyone, I am 10/27 and nervous but so ever hopeful. One thing on my mind that I have not found on here is, showering after surgery? I understand all Dr's will be different but curious if you were allowed to shower and what precuations, if any, did you have to take? Thanks and would love to find anyone out there who would like to buddy up.
