Fibro Queen

I started my liquid diet on last Sunday and Wed was day 4 for me (when you were on day 3) and I was also very miserable. I thought this whole thing was a total bust. Didn't think I was going to make it at all......and the trips to the bathroom!!! Oh, those shakes were cleaning me out for sure. I have tried peanut butter powder and sugar free hot choc for a "reese peanut butter" type shake. not bad. I have vanilla protein powder and unflavored powder. I am going to make a pumpkin smoothie this week. I am allowed very thin creamed soups - - very thinl! I use Freelife Mile because there is alot of protein in this as well. My surgery is the 17th. If I can make it another week, I know you can too.

My surgery is in 7 days - YIKES! Hard to believe now that I'm here, but I've been on a 6 month journey to get here, that followed a 2 years of "Do I or Don't I" waffling back and forth. Yes, I had to do both of those tests. I think basically because I have a Hiatial Hernia though and my Dr was concerned that gastric sleeve wouldn't be the best for me. You sleep through the Endoscopy, but will have a sore throat for a day or 2. The Barium Swallow is trying to drink the IV Liquid while laying down without burping! Yep - lay down, drink and don't burp! Oh well, whatever. Anyway.....welcome to the journey. Blessings.

I know this is very difficult. My surgery has been rescheduled 3 times, but due to my insurance, not any of my Dr's faults. They did not want to pay for some of the tests that I needed to take and that was AFTER they had approved me to do the Pre-surgical Weight loss program for my Dr. The insurance Co had the entire program laid out before them, so they knew all the tests I would have to take, but no one looked at them when I was approved to do the program, so as each new test came up, I would be denied and have to fight like a bull dog! grrrr So, instead of a late Aug date I am now 7 days out. I found a verse: "I said to myself, "Relax, because the Lord takes care of you" " Psalm 116:7 {New Century Version} I will be thinking of you, and remember, you are not alone. I have discovered there are many on here that support me, and I hope that you have found that too. Where are you in need of a Dr? As a fellow traveler, I have lived in the midwest and know Dr's in several states.

I've been worried enough about this. I started the Biotin about 6 weeks before my surgery date, which is next week. But I have very thin hair due to cancer from many many years ago, as it just never came back well.

Stay on top of the Dr. It maybe in the front office waiting to be faxed or waiting for the Dr's signature, hard to say, but stay on them. I have had to fight my insurance on 1 issue (a test) and push my Dr to rest my date as well.

I hear ya! I'm on the liquid diet, have been for a week. have lost about 10 pounds so far.

Let me know how things go as I too will be going to a wedding about 4 weeks out from my sleeve surgery! Didn't think anyone else would have to do this besides my family!! Good luck as you face this challenge.

Choosehope, have you made the decision to have surgery? I will be 59 in 2 days and will be having surgery a week after that. Why? Because, like I told my Dr on the 1st visit "I choose life over couch" "I choose Freedom over Fibro meds". Hang with me girl, you can do it!!

I am having surgery on the 17th too! don't know about you but this pre-surgery liquid diet is for the birds - - gag me!! I have spent the last 3 days in the bathroom.
