Originally I wanted the sleeve, however, with severe acid re flux I am leaning towards bypass now. Plus the results seem to be better. (It is likely just a hiatel hernia, so sleeve is likely still an option). I am looking for the real pros/cons between the Bypass and Sleeve. Result wise and living with it wise.

It was ill worded Shareen. You can disagree, but it does not change that it was rude. It is not advised to get pregnant within 2 Years of bariatric surgery, however, it does happen and it is simply recommended to get to the doctor and that you will need to follow strict guidelines to ensure health for both mother and child. I've heard that Gastric Sleeve can be worse for acid reflux sufferers. I've had GERD pretty severely -- but goes away when i don't eat certain foods -- for years. Now that I have my initial consult scheduled, I want to be prepared for if I need to consider bypass instead though i'd really prefer sleeve. I am curious to hear from those whom had GERD and got gastric sleeve of how much worse your GERD is? Etc.

Hello! I am new to this forum and I am starting the process to get the gastric sleeve procedure. I am 31 years old and 5ft 2in, 250lbs. I have done the online seminar for the place i plan to go through and i am getting my consult scheduled. I am really excited about doing this. How long from consult to surgery does it take for most?

Thanks for the welcomes! Good luck on your surgery! I already talked to my insurance and luckily I have great insurance. They basically said pick any on their approved list and they will approve it. That it is usually quick through them.
