You look amazing!!! Great job on the hike! -
How often do you weigh yourself?
BusyMom945 replied to kimberlymi's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Pre-op: I hated weighing myself. (Really considered throwing it away.) Post - op: I try to stick to weighing myself weekly (usually Mondays) but I go through periods where I forget and other time where I get a little obsessive. -
Can I cut (instead of chew) my chewable multivitamin?
BusyMom945 replied to AngelaZ's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I would go with what your surgeon's office recommends. Try to crush them and put them in the applesauce. The only reason I switched was because it was still making me sick to eat them even after crushing them (my surgeon's office recommended the same to me too). The flinstones chewable was a last resort. But keep them informed too, the vitamins are really important! Best of luck! -
Can I cut (instead of chew) my chewable multivitamin?
BusyMom945 replied to AngelaZ's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
You should definitely ask the doctor. I could not have them either; I would throw them up. My doctor ended up switching me to the flinstons chewable until I was able to swallow pills. -
My ultimate goal is to get down to 140, that is still about 80 pounds away. But if I could get down to about 160, I think I would be ok - I'm really not sure though. Honestly, I haven't been this happy in a long time even know. I can run again and exercise without feeling like I want to die. Excercise has become fun again for me, which I love. I keep up with my kids much better!

6 months Post op and can eat a whole burrito in 3 hours!
BusyMom945 replied to VSG_Meow_Bitch's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you were eating it bites at a time I would imagine you could; but why would you try? I don't want to come off as callous here, I just say this out of concern. -
Looking good! I'm down about 60 pounds now from my highest weight, but I'd still like to lose about another 80 pounds to get to my goal of 140. I still have some ways to go, but my goal every month is to lose 10 pounds. So I'm just going to keep pushing through. I really started to pick up my running though! Which I am the most excited about. I ran my first 5k in a very long time about two weeks ago and had so much fun I signed up for another around my birthday! I hope you all are doing well and feeling a lot better!

Do you miss being overweight?
BusyMom945 replied to Marissa37's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just had that moment too, I cleaned out my closet of old clothing that was too big. I spent a lot on all that clothing which is why I think I wished I may still "wanted" to fit them, but it was also a relief moment too. -
I think I just got out of mine. I had four weeks of not losing a single pound and this week i'm at almost 5lb lost. I don't normally check every day, but this week I have been to check to make sure it's real! Keep going!

Good Afternoon All! I went into surgery with a weight of 268 and today I weighed in at 237, 31lbs lost since surgery! I've really never felt better, I go to the gym/excerise at home about 3 times a week, I'm really trying to bump it up to 5 days a week. I'm going to run a 5K with my mom at the end of April, we ran this 5K together about 5 years ago and I ended up walking most of it, so my goal this time is to just be able to run the race. I have dropped two sizes! I went from a size 20 to currently a size 16. My favorite non-scale victory so far occured this weekend. My hubby and I took the kids to the Baltimore Aquarium to meet my sister and mom. They do not let you use strollers (my daughter is just over a year old and very attached). I pretty much carried her the entire time and didn't feel like I completely exhausted. We must have walked around looking for a good 2 hours before going to get lunch. It's great to hear from you all again! Wishing you all nothing but the best of luck!

I'm not sure where you started, but are you hitting your protein and water goals? Getting all your vitamins? How many times do you eat and how much? I would also discuss with your doctor/nutrientionist to see if there are ways you could help. But congrats on losing 25lbs so far!!! Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

What can I eat during solid stage
BusyMom945 replied to nurse123's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I stick with chicken and tuna a lot. I use a crock pot a lot to cook my chicken and make it really tender. For my veggies I have been sticking to califlower, edamane, brocolli, green beans (usually canned since they are softer), squash (spaghetti squash is amazing - I made this is mini turkey meatballs!). I also eat a lot of eggs. I actually got a couple bariatric cook books to learn some new recipes. It was nice because they lable the meals with nutrional fact and food stages. -
Exercise on a liquid non-protein diet? Really? Too tired, how?
BusyMom945 replied to Sychka's topic in Fitness & Exercise
I did little things, I would get up and walk around the house for about ten minutes at a time and slowly build up from there. Just start small! Good luck! -
Good Morning Everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and you all are doing well! The new year is about to start and what are some of your New Years Resolution?! I was thinking about my New Years Resolution and I think I would really like to go to the beach, I havent been in years, and I would really like to just feel somewhat comfortable in a bathing suit again. Have a wonderful day!

Surgery tomorrow 12/27
BusyMom945 replied to Flabtofab122717's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Good luck tomorrow! -
Congrats on your surgery! I know this little stall is frustrating. I was sleeved on 11/21 and about a week after surgery for about two weeks the scale wouldn't budge. It seemed once I hit the full liquid and mushy food stage, the number started dropping again for me. I know this was a radical change to my body and I'm sure I was just adjusting. Just keep getting your water and protein in and I'm sure the scale will move again for you! Wishing you the best of luck!

Could Someone 'Splain This To Me?

I'm usually a planner, so it was a little difficult to adjust to, but looking back I see why. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app -
Could Someone 'Splain This To Me?
BusyMom945 replied to FluffyChix's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I know with my program I only received information about the current phase. So, I didn't get information about my 2 week liquid diet until the day I started. In the hospital I received my info about phase 1, clear liquids and protein drinks only, then at my 2 week appointment, I received info about phase 2 and 3, full liquids and mushy food. I think they did it this way to try to simplify the process and so patients wouldn't skip ahead. I know my program was very different from my sister's who just had the sleeve done as well. I do like the way my program broke it down not to give too much information all at once and they had nice handy sheets on what to focus on. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app -

12/13 surgery. Feeling a bit depressed.
BusyMom945 replied to HappyG's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm about three and a half weeks post-op; definitely had those feelings right after surgery. I even get them occassionally now, but seeing the scale move in the right direction, my clothing is already fitting better - even wearing stuff that used to be too tight before, and getting down and playing with my kids, really makes me remember why I did this in the first place Wishing you the best of luck! -
Hello November Sleevers! I hope you all are doing well. I had my surgery on 11/21, tomorrow will be 3 weeks exactly. I have lost just over 20lbs. Since starting the two week liquid diet, but I have been at the same weight here for almost two weeks. Like the number is not moving. I definitely feel better, I'm getting at least 60 oz of fluid a day and hitting my protein goals. Just seeing if anyone is having anything similar? Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app
