Janine - well, it's good to feel those muscles! I'm off to the gym tomorrow morning for another hour... Looking forward to it. I do have some photos of "before"... and did start taking photos every 2 weeks in the same set of shorts and t shirt so I can see the difference. Will have to start taking photos of me in social situations as well!

It's such a great feeling to be able to do 1+ hours in the gym and feel good, not tired or over-sore. It really shows that we are making progress and getting fitter!!! I'll be careful with cold water and gym!!! Not a good feeling. Maybe I should start to take photos. I'm definitely wearing nicer clothes - have gone down nearly 2 sizes - and it shows now in my face and body. I've had to give away the first batch of clothes which is such a great feeling!!!

You look great, Janine!!! I still haven't had any photos taken - except for the bi-monthly ones that I take to see my progress. I have however lost 28 lbs and am feeling great. Re. nausea - I was doing exercise this morning and drank some cold water and immediately had nausea - I wonder if it's linked.
-
Janine : Wow! 5x a week! That's great! I've only just started with 2x a week (plus of course walking and gardening etc.). I'll up it to 3x a week in April (I get 9 sessions at a physiotherapist, basically monitored exercise, and finish those beginning April). I'll then start my fitness membership up again and do Aquagym 3x a week. My stall seems to have stopped for now - I upped my calories from 900-1000 per day, and for some reason that has helped (or exercise, or something else! Who knows...)
-
Fantastic that your stall has ended, Marty. Seems mine has too. I'm just not getting that amount of water in... max. 40 or so oz per day! Pus protein shakes, of course. Have you started exercising?
-
Hi, I'm doing fine. Learning to eat so differently and so little at a time. Eating 6 x per day, and have lost 23 lbs so far. I have been stalling for the past 2 weeks, and have now started exercising 2x per week so am hoping it will start to go down again. I'm eating ca. 900 calories per day, and maybe should up this to 1000 or so. I feel great, lots of energy, clothes much looser, sleeping better. I'm very happy to have doe the sleeve. Probably one of my best decisions!!!
-
Good luck! You've got this. I look forward to hearing how it goes for you. Am 6 days post sleeve up and doing great, better every day.
-
It helps. And then I chase the taste with apple sauce or yoghurt to get rid of the taste in my mouth.
-
Hi, welcome home! I was sleeved last Tuesday so I'm on day 5. I mixed my crushed meds with a bit of yoghurt, which helped. And am now swallowing the small pills and using painkillers that dissolve in water.
-
Me too. How are you doing?
-
Good luck to you. My suggestions are a follows: Take it easy, give your body time to heal and listen to it and to your stomach. The first 24 hours were not easy for me and then things get better quite quickly. Take the pain killers you need. They will allow you to heal faster as you'll be less tense. Get up as soon as you can but don't force. Even just standing up for a while helps. Get lots of rest.

Many thanks and likewise!

This is their normal procedure. I'm in Switzerland. I could stay till Saturday but would like to leave tomorrow. Will see what they say, though it won't be before after lunch.

I had my sleeve Tuesday. Still in hospital. Still have pain but not as bad as the first 24 hours. I can get up and walk a bit and go to the bathroom on my own, and am now able to eat a bit of pureed apple, bone broth with a potato blended in, and water in between. They might let me home tomorrow.
-
Thanks for this! Wonderful to hear. I'm in hospital now and will be operated tomorrow morning with the sleeve as well as a hiatial hernia. I am nervous of course, and also sure that it's the right decision. I'm worried about not eating anymore for a while, though that's the point, right? I imagine you get used to it quickly. Then I'll be concentrating on my liquids and proteins! Had my last meal earlier... From now on, only water until 6 am, then operation at 10 am. They said I might end up in intensive for the night to be monitored for sleep apnea.. Hoping not!
-
Good luck everybody, both for today and tomorrow! Looking forward to hearing how it all went for us. Xx
-
Thank you! I will as soon as I get to my phone again!
-
Me too. Am going into hospital tomorrow afternoon. Operation on Tuesday morning 16th. They will repair my hiatial hernia as well as do a vsg. And told me that since I've got sleep apnea, they might put me under observation in the intensive care for the night... I hope it won't be necessary. Am super nervous though I know it's the best decision I've made to do the vsg. Here's to us all! Xx

Congratulations! I'm glad you are now over the worst and feeling happy. Fantastic! Now let the healing begin! [emoji122] [emoji122] [emoji122] [emoji122]
