I too have a small hiatial hernia and the surgeon will fix it at the same time as my vsg!
-
I totally agree with you Shelly420! I too am tired of the whole fat thing after 15 years of dieting. I'm looking forward to wearing a swimsuit and not feel fat, to not be the "fat friend", of being able to run and have more energy and stamina. I'd like to lose about the same as you by summer, and then keep on going. I've got a couple of friends who know what I'm doing and who support me, I've told the rest of my friends and my family that I'm having a hernia fixed (this is true too!!). Exciting indeed! Please do let me know how it all goes!!

You are very brave. I wish you all the best and especially after, once you are back home. The good thing about this site is the mortal support we can give each other!

Mine too! Excited that it's finally happening.

Congratulations! I know the feeling. I started the process in July and got my date last Friday... It's 16 January. Excited and looking forward to the new me!

Embarrassing BM changes (TMI)

I take a teaspoon of magnesium citrate powder in water every evening before going to sleep. It helps me sleep and makes me go very regularly every morning. Also, many people are magnesium deficient and don't realise. Just make sure the powder dissolves completely in the water so it's transparent, this gets the active ingredients working properly. -
Just some more information: I'm having the gastric sleeve done, and I live in Switzerland, near Italy. Food funerals: definitely. Mine is tequila. Good thing is, alcohol is off the plan for a good 6 months and then I'll just carry on not touching it. Is there a FB page for sleevers in January?
-
Hi, I'm scheduled beginning January though I don't have an exact date yet. Very excited that this is finally happening. Glad to find others in the same timing as me[emoji4] looking forward to moving forward together.

THE BIG NO NO's of what never to eat or drink after the sleeve.

Hi Jess, I gave up caffeine some years ago and now only drink decaf which now you really can't taste the difference. I believe decaf is less acidic. Would this maybe help you? Good luck! -
What are your goals other than weight loss?
CBBP replied to Mattymatt's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I want to have a bath in a normal bathtub, ride horses again, learn to climb those rock walls, go shopping for normal clothes, not be looked at, fit easily in economy on flights, not be the big girl in the group. -
Did you take a "Before" photo?
CBBP replied to Wanda A's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks Jess for the tank top and shorts idea. I'm now where you were in the beginning (will have VSG early January) and am excited to see the transformation as I go down this exciting path ! -

Hi Starsmore, It was funnily enough my gynecologist who suggested the operation to me a year ago. That started me searching and finding out what it all was about. When I told her in September that I'll have the operation beginning January '18 she was thrilled and very supportive. I'm sorry to hear that yours was not. I hope you can find another gynecologist. No need to stay with someone who isn't supportive. And congratulations on the amazing result! Brava! Big cheers.[emoji122] [emoji122] [emoji122] -
Same with me. I just found out I need C pap, have surgery in January and am hoping to get off the c pap once I lose the weight.

Good luck! It will be fine I'm sure. Let us know! I weigh similar to you and need to lose a similar amount. Will be sleeved beginning January. Have only told closest friends who don't judge. One has been sleeved and will help me all the way. Good to have friends. -
