    Dr. Goldstein in New Jersey

I had my consult with Dr. Goldstein a few weeks ago. I think he is very likable and has a great track record, but so far I find it really hard to get a phone call returned from his staff. I'm afraid his office is too busy..... Any similar experiences? Shelly

    Necessity for Gallbladder removal

Hi, My surgeon (in NJ) didn't give me the option of doing them together either. Plus I had to have a pulmonary "OK" which is actually a sleep study before he'll do the GB removal. Now the sleep center says results won't be back for 2 to 3 weeks ..... then another 2 weeks until I can get a GB surgery date. I'm wondering how crucial it is for the GB to come out if I can wait this long???? Has anyone ever heard of needing a sleep study before gallbladder removal? Thanks
  5. Hi everyone. I'm new here. I am at the begining of my LAPBAND journey; have to have gallbladder removal first to pave the way for the next step of attempting to get approved for LB. How long is the typical post-op wait after LB surgery before you can go swimming in a pool or ocean? Thanks!

    Gallbladder removal

Thanks for all the input. Infection, etc...actually was the way he explained his decision. I actually feel better now that I've seen that others have had similar situation. Thanks again!

    Gallbladder removal

Hi, I'm new to this board. I had my consultation 2 weeks ago. I was all set to start my LapBand journey when all of the sudden a horrible gallbladder attack sidelined me. I thought I would be able to have my GB removed when I got Banded, but my surgeon said, no. He said I have to have my GB removed first. Now I'm wondering if I should get a second or third opinion rather than go through 2 surgeries. Anyone out there had a similar experience? (I have avaided fatty foods for a month and have not had another attack since then.) Any input at all would help. I like my surgeon, and have a lot of faith in him, but don't want to have to have 2 surgeries if there is any way to avoid it. Looking forward to hearing from someone soon. Thanks! Shelly
