I'm from Birmingham, Alabama and will be attending the seminar in mid-April for Dr. Schmidt and Dr. Miles. I've got lots of questions. I'm looking at all options including self pay if the insurance doesn't cover. Can anyone tell me if you are required to do the 6 month diet before having the surgery if your self pay. I'm right at the 40 bmi, and if I lose a few pounds I want meet the criteria. It seems like a losing battle because I know I could lose 10 or 15 lbs, but then a year from now I'll be right back where I started from plus 10 more. Any feedback is greatly appreciated:cool2:
