Newbie here! Minnesota sleevers?
Krista27 replied to Erica_is_pretty's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have health partners insurance and they required 5 phone coaching and they had to be spaced apart. It mostly just depends on what your insurance requires. They do all the requirements and then submit you for approval and after that you meet with the surgeon. -

Krista27 replied to Erica_is_pretty's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
The process from start to finish took 7 months it would have been less but I had to reschedule a few appointments. After i sent the packet they contacted me in about two weeks. Everyone there is super nice and helpful. My surgeon was amazing as well. -

I had my surgery at Park Nicollet Methodist. My whole program was there. It went amazingly well. My surgeon was Dr Luthra and he was great. -
Yes I plan on posting some progress pictures as soon as I get to onederland! I can't see the progress so I am hoping pictures will make me see it!

Never. I know that's not what you want to hear but it's the truth.

I love spring and summer! We still have snow and a muddy mess since it's starting to melt. But I definitely get our more lots of trips to the dog park and walking the trails with our pup. I also do a lot more walking so much nicer when it's not on the treadmill. Come summer we set up our pool and the trampoline goes up. I've been looking up exercise routines for the tramp.

Dr Luther is great. My surgery went very well. I had minimal pain after and recovered quick!

How many people are now running since wls? I currently am walking but really would like to work up to running. Programs are plans you suggest that will take you from walking to running. I would like to do a 5k at some point. Any tips at all would be appreciated. Sent from my SM-J727T1 using BariatricPal mobile app

will the ninja blender work for pureed foods?
Krista27 replied to indacrucible's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes! I used my ninja all the the time when I was on the Pureed stage. I have the big ninja system with all the attachments. -
Yes! I am constantly cold@ Doesn't help that I live in frigid Minnesota. I am dreaming of a tropical spring break! I used to be hot all the time. I actually prefer the cold!

How often are you drinking a shake?
Krista27 posted a topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
So just wondering how often you drink protein shakes? How many a day? How far out are you? Do you use them as meal replacements or just to supplement? I drink between 1 and 2 a day. I've been trying to get more protein from food so I can cut out the second but it's rough. -
I have heard great things about your Dr.! Are you having sleeve or bypass? We were just in Hudson last weekend :-)

I have gotten really good at this water game! Yep I treat it as a game or challenge and it literally starts the minute I wake up! I drink at the least 84 ozs a day. I bring my water bottle with me everywhere I go. If its not in my hand its in my purse. I actually now kind have a mini freak out if I don't have it! I also track my water alongside my food in an app on my phone.

Was this surgery enough for you?
Krista27 replied to frust8's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am planning on at the very least a tummy tuck. But it is not just because of losing weight. I had a stomach surgery that went wrong 8 years ago. The Drs left my stomach crooked. I want this fixed more than anything. It was one of the reasons I had the sleeve. I needed to lose weight before they'd fix my tummy. -
Yes I had my surgery at Park Nicollet and had all my appts at Meadowbrook. I had Dr. Luther. I had a great experience. I'm about ten minutes from Woodbury.

I waited 1 week. But I felt good at that point. Just depends how you are feeling.

I hate eating out now!
Krista27 replied to TakingABreak's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Last time when I forgot my card my spouse talked to them for me which was super sweet. But ask the surgeon about the card. All the restaraunts know about it here. -

It's funny because now I order off the kids menu and eat slower than my friends/spouse. And I still have left overs from the kids menu. Most restaraunts will substitute there potato/fries for a veggie or fruit which is nice. -

Sure it just looks like a business card on one side and them the other side explains about having bariatric surgery. -

I've been doing really good since surgery. Had the sleeve on 2/9 and so far I've lost 29lbs including what I lost on preop. Today I must have done to much. Having pretty bad pain on my side just praying it's not another kidney stone or kidney infection! -

I have the card. My surgeon gave it to me. Most places I tell them I had bariatric surgery and they are very nice and let me order off the kids menu. Other places ask for the card and then are very nice about working with me. I really enjoy eating out with my spouse. We went to a Mongolian bbq and they don't let you take anything home but with my card they let me take my meal home. -
Where are my 5ft tall peeps at?
Krista27 replied to The Dora Milaje's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am 5'2 with my shoes on! I just had surgery though on 2/9. My goal weight is just something I picked which is 140. My surgeon and his team don't have a set goal weight besides the one I told them.
