    February 2018 Success Stories

Also, the last two weeks of May i was working out like a maniac, i truly became obsessed with fitness However, I now have 3 herniated disks, one of which is impinging on the nerve root, and I’m going on week 3 in bed, in severe pain. I don’t know exactly what caused this for me, but I am told that weight loss is a contributing factor for sure—— be careful in your workouts everyone! HW: 221 SW: 209 CW: 149 Sleeved 2/13/18

My hair stared falling out at 3 months and seems to only be getting worse, i have normally thin hair and it’s just getting to the point where i have sooo much hair coming out every day I’ve tried two biotin shampoos, didn’t seem to help I can’t take biotin orally because I get an allergic reaction to it, i use patchmd for all my vitamins so i tried their biotin patch, so far nothing noticeable Someone recommended doing a hair mask 2x/week of castor and almond oil, I might try it [emoji17] HW: 221 SW: 209 CW: 149 Sleeved 2/13/18
  3. Hi all, I’m 3 months post VSG and my doc said to try to stop drinking protein shakes. I was doing fine with my one premier a day, getting the rest of my protein from food. Now, I can’t seem to get the minimum 60g of protein into my day without the shake. What does everyone eat and how often to get enough protein in? HW: 221 SW: 209 CW: 168 Sleeved 2/13/18

    Protein struggles

Yep it seems to be making a huge difference in me getting enough protein in, not water because i wouldn’t count the protein drink towards my water count anyway HW: 221 SW: 209 CW: 168 Sleeved 2/13/18

I feel like I’m constantly stalling too, your surgery day weight was wayyyy less then mine, you’re doing really well, i think! Congrats! I was told to eat a bit more daily and it’s been helping, plus working out 7 days a week But you went from 227 to 159 that’s a tremendous accomplishment! HW: 221 SW: 209 CW: 179 Sleeved 2/13/18

What is everyone doing in terms of fitness? I’m doing well but tried to a crunch the other day and i couldn’t... it seems the muscles in my abdomen have become non existent Before surgery i was able to do a bunch, it felt so weird I’m not sure if it’s better to do a little at a time to work up to it, OR to not to do any core work on that area for a little while longer...? Pureed /blended stage

I'm on purée now and one of my favorite things right now is one scrambled egg white with two tablespoons of ricotta cheese, i put the ricotta on the skillet first so it melts a little bit and then pour the egg white over it and scramble it until it's cooked but still mush -- can do the same with a full egg i would assume, i just can't use yolks Also, i make chicken broth and take out the chicken, purée the chicken with some geek yogurt and a tiny bit of fat free mayo--- can do the same with tuna or eggs for an egg salad Other then that, yogurt, mozzarella sticks, cottage cheese HW: 221 SW: 209 CW: 198 Sleeved 2/13/18

  23. You're so lucky, the people i work with are nosy and super judgmental. Love them but when it comes to anything outside of their typical lifestyle, they judge the crap out of you. HW: 221 SW: 209 CW: 202 Sleeved 2/13/18
  24. Sorry, i don't think so Mine was 2/13, and i have a work thing this wednesday-Thursday 2/21-22, and i don't think I'm going. It involves dinner, hotel, and an all day training on Thursday.... I was in a lot of pain and very weak since my surgery until yesterday (Monday) which was the first day i went outside for a walk. I totally thought I'd be back at work early but I see now why a week and a half to two weeks is necessary. You have to let you body heal properly, and you have to get your protein and fluids in. Those first days at home were the hardest i can't imagine doing them anywhere else. Message me if you have questions since i just went through it and am still home healing!!
