I'm 4 days post op and constantly feel like I have a pill or something stuck in my throat. I'm barely able to get my minimum water down and it's not necessarily painful, just uncomfortable. Did anyone else experience something similar?

I hear you! I can't even keep all of my water down yet and I'm still missing food! Has anyone else noticed how every other commercial on TV is for food? It's become a running joke in our house! I can't wait until I'm able to eat yogurt or SOMETHING!

Thanks! That's good to know. I've had a few other surgeries and never experienced this much discomfort. I'll keep hoping it goes away!

Have you been allowed to go home yet? They won't let me leave until I drink a lot more... and I miss home!

Had my surgery on Tuesday and everything went well. I really had no pain from the surgery but I cannot sip water AT ALL. The first two days of just came straight back up. Has anyone experienced that? Now I can take a sip and keep it down but I feel painfully full. They're not letting me get home until I get through four cups an hour. I have no idea how to do that!

I've kept mine secret as well so I totally get it. It's no ones business. I expect people will eventually get nosey and ask so I plan to laugh it off and say "I don't eat any more!!" [emoji23] good luck on the 8th. I'm going in on the 7th! You'll be in my thoughts!

How's your pain level? I think the first night is what I'm most worried about!

Wow good for you!!!! Just think of it this way... you've got a jump on me with the weight loss!!! Keep strong! [emoji1320]

It's really interesting how much the pre op diet varies from surgeon to surgeon. I'm only required to do no carbs for the first 4 days and then liquids for 3 days prior to surgery. I'll count myself lucky to only have to do 3 days of liquid [emoji23]

Just think of food as the jerkiest ex ever I'm right there with ya!

Haha! I'm so glad you told me! I travel with a lot of shoes!!! [emoji12] it could get interesting!

I'm scheduled for surgery on 11/7 and my job has scheduled a work trip for 12/6-12/8. Was wondering if anyone who has had the surgery could tell me if its crazy to plan travel a month after surgery? Or will I still be feeling pretty wonky?

Thank you so much! Im glad to hear it. I haven't told anyone in the office. I'll make sure to pre-plan my meals!!!

Gaining Weight During Six months required visits
emgem replied to raycole14's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've been told it is not an issue if there isn't dramatic weight gain. Most people fluctuate 5 pounds in a day so I would not worry about it. If insurance gives you trouble see if you have an employee assistance program or advocacy service through your provider that might help. They've been a huge asset for me -
November 7th in Texas! Best of luck to you!!
