I started at 406, so I had quite a bit to lose. My goal is to get to 225. I'm 6'3". -
Wore One of My Larger Shirts and Had Comments All Day
BlueCrush replied to Danny Paul's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just had the same thing happen yesterday. I'm still pre op, but have lost almost 70lbs during the first 5 months of my 6 month pre op plan. I wore a polo pullover for the first time since last winter, and I was drowning in it. (It was tight on me last winter!) I got compliments all day! -
Can you add my surgeon to the directory?
BlueCrush posted a topic in Website Assistance & Suggestions
I'm trying to add my surgeon, but he is not currently in the directory: Dr. Mohamed Dahman, practicing within Mercy Health owned hospitals in Cincinnati, OH https://doctors.mercy.com/provider/Mohamed+I+Dahman/230433 Thank you -
Edited - Duplicate post. Sorry

Lots of December dates starting to come in.
-
Wow! Nice work! How tall are you? I have similar starting body build and would be thrilled with similar results. My surgery date is 12/11. I'm 6'3" and started at 406. I'm down to 349 now with 1.5 months left to go on my insurance required 6 month pre-op diet.

Scheduled for Dec. 11th here.

My office has schedules them as one per month for 6 months, but it will end up being less than 180 days. They said that was OK. June 13 July 6 Aug 10 Sep 7 Oct 5 Nov 14 From Jun 13 - Nov 14 is actually only 165 days, but they said it's OK since I have a weight documented on 6 separate calendar months.

I just got my date: December 11th. I still have one final appointment to go in the 6 month diet plan, but they wanted to get me scheduled ASAP to ensure I got a spot before the end of the year as my insurance is changing on 1/1/18. Excited and nervous!

Insurance out of pocket expenses
BlueCrush replied to CrissCriss's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Even though they may collect your deductible or out of pocket PROR to surgery, your insurance won't apply it until they receive a medical claim from them. The insurance will apply your deductible/copay/coinsurance as of the date of the surgery, regardless of it you paid in advance. So, I'd your plan period resets prior to your surgery date, yes, you will have to pay the deductible and out of pocket for the new plan year that was effective during your surgery date. -
I'm still about a year away, but was trying to get a feel for pricing for planning purposes. What do I need to do to be accepted to the Facebook for? I've tried to join a few times over the past couple days come off but apparently I'm not being accepted to the group.

I've tried to join the Facebook group a couple of times now, but still not being let on the group. Can you share pricing?

I don't have a date yet, but my surgeon has told me it will be sometime in early to mid Dec. I finish the 6 month insurance required weight loss program in Nov. 7.

I'm also on the 6 month insurance required supervised diet. I'm at the end of month 4 and have lost 48.2lbs so far. The diet my surgeon / nutritionist gave me is similar to described by ojibway above. I wasn't given a calorie goal, but rather a list of things to give up (carbonation, caffeine, sweetened drinks) and a list of foods that I need to eat daily, across 6 meals a day focusing on portion control. I usually end up between 1600-1800 calories per day with this plan. Typical day looks like: Breakfast = oikos triple zero Greek yogurt and 1 cup of oatmeal Snack = sargento "balanced break" pack Lunch = healthy choice Cafe steamers meal ( the nutritionist gave me a list of approved frozen meals) Snack = 2 pieces of low fat string cheese and a piece of fruit Dinner = 4-6oz of meat or fish, a healthy carb such as brown rice or sweet potato, and a veggie Snack = usually a repeat of either snack 1 or snack 2, or sometimes 1 serving of special K strawberry with 1cup of fairlife skim milk
