  1. I work in an extremely busy and heavy surgical ward and I was told 3 weeks. I'm 6 days out and feel like 2 would be suffice since I'm so bored at home. But I can understand the 3, don't want adhesions or to pull anything down the track. I'm going back to a set of nights, and the best part is, work doesn't know what I've had done so it worked out well for me!

    Sleeve pain left side

Ugh! I woke up today with the exact same feeling! It's like I have a constant stitch under my rib cage/gut area on the left. It helps if I apply pressure but crikey it hurts! I'm thinking it might be a few things (since I also have no gallbladder and it's located on the right side). 1. A leak - I'm 4 days out and I caved and made a scrambled egg last night which I chewed on like there was no tomorrow but I also added a tiny amount of Parmesan to get some flavour. Have I over done it and dropped a staple? 2 - gas - is it just a pocket of stuck gas from sleeping overnight? 3 - adhesions....surely they wouldn't have formed so quickly already, but also a possibility If it doesn't ease by tomorrow I'll be calling the surgeons office for some advice. Aside from this pinching pain I actually feel fabulous. My port sites are fine, I've been tolerating my liquids (and the cheeky egg!) no vomiting, nothing that would suggest I have any complication. I even went out yesterday and clocked my 10k steps. Super frustrating! I don't have time for complications! Haha!
  3. Had surgery on the 4th and did so great in hospital post op. Managed my fluids and pain wasn't an issue etc. Got home today and slept pretty much all day so I'm lacking in the fluid department. I just had 2 small sips of room temp water and the saliva attack and nausea feels just hit me. I'm well aware that this feeling happens when you over eat (I totally did it in hospital this morning with my yoghurt....over did it by 1 teaspoon), but with water?! Does anyone have any problems with going a long time between sips? I'm thinking it's because I've been asleep for most of the day and so my new belly is a bit sluggish. Uughhhh! What a horrible feeling! Thankfully I've been sent home with all the drugs, but I'd rather not take them if I can manage without. Hit me up people, what was it like when you got home?
  4. Morning all! Was sleeved at 1pm yesterday, it's now 5am the following day and I'm feeling great! Still have a little bit of gas pain which is easing with every walk I do. Hitting good fluid goals and peeing like a champion. Still have my pca which will be taken down today and then home on Friday!Good luck to all the flow October sleeves! What exciting adventures we have to look forward to!
  5. October 4th too! Supposed to start the pre-op on the 20/9.....but I currently have a delightful bout of gastro. An excellent weight loss tool......no desire to eat, poop everything out, lose all the weight. If only it was always so easy!
