The other day, I ran across a street to avoid traffic. I just did it, I didn’t have to think what I would hurt if I tried to move too fast. Small but profound differences all over the place. It is so scary! But just trust and then hope and then it’s just you getting thinner (lots of work and measuring, yes). VSG 10/11/17 HW 336 SW 306 CW 238 GW 236 -

Favorite Snack Hacks for the sweet and salty
Humble17 posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hello fellow VSGers, What do you make for yourself to satisfy a sweet or salty craving? like to get a few other ideas. I make a Gummy candy by mixing a sugar free Jello packet, a packet of Gelatin and 1/2 cup Water, boil until mixed and pour into a ice cube tray. About 1/2 an hour in the freezer then to the fridge. They’re just like gummy bears! If I eat ALL of the ones I make, it’s 90 calories and 16 grams of protien!! VSG 10/11/17 HW 336 SW 306 CW 243 GW 206 -

I smoked a brisket and some chicken. I ate mostly meats, with a bite of scalloped pirates and of a greenbean casserole. I have NOT been counting calories today, if I’m over 1500 for the day I’d be shocked. I did drink a Protien Shake first thing this morning. I have every intention of eating a small piece of chocolate silk pie my family encourages me to make every holiday. I already have my clothes laid out for a run tomorrow morning! Good Luck! I’ve hit a three week stretch before where I bounced around within 2 lbs. I never stopped weighing myself, but I tried to be scientific about it and ask myself: are you eating okay? Are you exercising? Are you sleeping? Are you stressed? I really focused on these 4 things at the beginning of my stall and ....I didn’t lose any weight for three weeks. There are some things that are up to us, and there are some things that are not. Good Luck! VSG 10/11/17 HW 336 SW 306 CW 255 GW 206

The forearm in the picture that comes up with this post is from my “before” picture. Why my before picture!! Anyway I’m doing well enough. I thought I was messing up because my weight loss slowed down so much. I lost 35 pounds the first month! But, I realized that if I looked at what I was eating and doing, I would be doing well to lose 3 lbs a week. After the initial weight loss, I thought I could just hold my breath and be done losing weight. No I see that it will be a road to walk for the foreseeable future. Solid proteins = full for longer. Carbs = getting hungrier. Good luck everyone! VSG 10/11/17 HW 331 SW 306 CW 356 GW 206

Can’t break this stall to save my life.

It looks like your diet is fine, if you’re exercising at whatever level, that’s probably fine. I’d vote for sleep, and then stress. Both of those have always slowed me down. I believe 100% that the other side is near for you! Good Luck! VSG 10/11/17 HW 336 SW 306 CW 259 GW 206 -
October 2017 Sleever Update [emoji4]
Humble17 replied to sleevemebabyy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I cooked all day and ate too much! It was a very interesting day. I had socked away some cheat in my diet but I really didn’t enjoy eating the foods I had looked forward to. And my stomach was sore like it had worked. I guess I’m going to need to watch myself forever, because the obese me still tries to wake up from time to time. I’m ready to get back on a lean plan today! Good Luck Everyone! VSG 10/11/17 HW 336 SW 306 CW 259 GW 206 -
There are some based on egg Protein that taste different, but they all taste kinda bad. Keep switching until you find one you can stand. I like the cheap body fortress isolate from Walmart, but I’d drink whatever.

I eat two egg whites, fried in Pam, with no fat cheese at breakfast. I always eat 3oz of whatever meat at the other two meals rounded out with 1-2 oz of (green beans, roasted squash). I have three snacks each day out of: triple zero yogurt, two lifts cheese sticks or a shake made of 4 strawberries, 1/2 cup blueberries, 6 oz water and a scoop of protein powder. I’m at ~ 1,000 cals a day, but I workout quite a bit.

I was sleeved on Oct 11, which is a month today! I am eating fine, I’ve only eaten too much twice, but it sure isn’t pleasant! I am taking in around 1100 cals a day and 100 grams Protein. I know that’s a lot but it’s working for me. I can workout as well as before surgery, but weak. I’m having problems wanting to eat at night, but I stay within my calorie range. Working out post-op
Humble17 replied to Rose400491's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am absolutely no doctor, but I think if you eliminate resistance training (weights, bands, push-ups, etc.) you are not doing yourself any favors. Light resistance training will keep your lean body mass intact better than cardio. Lean body mass burns calories. I’m not talking about strapping up and moving a lot of weights. What I’ve done in my 3 workouts since vsg (10/11/17) is simple movements with the lightest of weights. This will also strengthen your core (big incision) as long as you don’t over do it! I was physically ready to go back after two weeks. I’m glad I had the third week as practice for living with my new baby stomach.

Vitamins-daily requirements?? So confused
Humble17 replied to GeTnBackuP's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
From what I understand, and I’m no expert, is that the bariatric surgery alters the ability to adsorb specific vitamins and minerals. By increasing the amount of the specific items that we can’t adsorb post surgery, the bariatric vitamins are made for US! I asked “Well, if I need 5x the vitamin X, can’t I just take 5 Centrum vitamins?” The nurse responded that you are increasing all of the other vitamins and minerals by 5x as well, and over time they could build up and have a negative effect on our physiology. -

Way to go!! You look great! Inspirational! -
I was sleeved on 10/11/17. From what I’ve seen, some people race out of the gate, some don’t. The three things that speed of weight loss is based on are: gender, age and height. If you are a tall young man, you’ll lose weight like it’s just melting. If you are a short older woman (the best kind!) you will lose weight slower. It’s a life change, so you’ll have some more time! Just get healed up, drink your liquids, get in some protein, and trust (pray?). That sucks, but I bet you’ll be back on the boards in no time with a lot of success. Good Luck!
