I work part time doing mani's and pedi's, I do some really cool nail art on other people feet. I can't wait to be able to do my own! It's a real struggle to paint your own toes when you’re bigger! Plus I have never ever in my life worn stiletto’s I have always been to big and been scared of snapping them! First thing I am gonna do when I feel confident enough is go and get me a pair of the sexiest shoes I can find oh after I give my self a Pedi that is lol XXX<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p> <o:p></o:p> KiKi XX<o:p></o:p>

    First problem...

Hey Drew, It's really good your family on the whole are supporting you, there is prob a lot of reason's he's not supporting you which could range from his own insecurities to just being ill informed! If he's as big as you now wait till he starts seeing how well you are doing and I bet he will soon change his mind! I hope you don't let his off the cuff comment dampen your day too much! KiKi XX

    Slender tone Flex?

Hi There, I have heard of slendertone but never tried it! There is a treatment you can get in beauty salons called Endomologie it was originally designed to help skin tone after lipo, it's kinda a deep massage. My Mum owns a clinic and has an Endo machine and they get very good results with it, you would need a course of treatments. We are in the UK but out machine is from the US so I figure it must be avalible there! Hope the info helps KiKi
  8. I hear you Fanny Adams! If going to be nice to be able to wear clothes you want to wear not what you have to wear. In the UK the main "larger lady" clothes shop is Evans. The do these delightful "comfort shorts" which are kinda like tights but end at the knee they stop your thighs rubbing together if you wear a skirt, I will not miss those ugly buggers that for sure! banding in the uk on nhs?

Hi Tracey I am having mine done on the NHS, I live in Sussex and am having it done at St Richards in Chichester. The surgeons are very well known and also do a lot of private work. I started off by doing my research and approaching my doctor about having the op. He had never had anyone that wanted it before and I had to prove I had tried several other ways of losing weight. I was referred to my local hospital which was unlucky as they only did the vertical gastric band which is a whole different ball game. Then luckily for me my local hospital stopped offering this operation and I was given a list of 3 hospitals that performed bariatric surgery in my area. It meant I had to start the whole process again but it also meant I got the operation I wanted. It's taken a long time and some of it is down to post code lottery, you have to get funding from your local PCP for the operation. All in its been about 3 years for me but I am having mine done in June. I think this time span is way way above average but that’s just how it panned out for me. I would start by finding out where the lapband is available in your area and then go back to your docs and ask for a referral. Hope this helps KiKi XX

    Shoes shoes shoes!!! :)

I read somewhere that due to being bigger there is more weight on the feet so we become more flat footed to compensate. People often go down a shoe size when they lose weight! I can't wait for the pretty shoes too.................they speak to me, hmmmmmmmmmmmm shoes.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p> Ki XX

  12. Hi All, Quick question I am Pre Band Should be fitted next month (fingers crossed!). Whilst at the size I am 280lbs I get numbness in the top of my legs predominantly on the right side. It happens while I am sat and if I lie on my back for to long. Did any one have this before they were banded and if so did it stop when you lost weight? I have spoken to my GP about it and he thinks its size related and nothing to worry about. Just curious what you guys think???!!! Ki XX

  14. Hi JRT Mom, I am the same as you mostly I just want to be left alone with a stack of books and DVD's! I have decided to have my friends and family at the hospital just because its so far and I know I will be kicking myself if I don't. But after I am released I plan to go back to my place where I live alone and just have them pop in to check on me once a day. Good luck Ki XX

    having a rough day

Hi there want so bad, it so difficult trying to balance out everything that comes with weight loss. There are many reasons that we all got bigger in the first place for some people it was protection for some it was not to be noticed have you though about maybe talking to a specialist? It's a massive life change we are all going through and that’s gonna take some time to right itself in your head. If you’re not comfortable speaking to someone perhaps you could get some of those self-help books????? Also try keeping a journal; you need to work out why you’re so worried about being thin to get passed it Best of luck sweetie! KiKi XX

    Lap Band Book

Sounds excellent! I just checked on amazon UK you can get it there too! I am gonna order it as soon as I get paid! I have been reading a book called shrink yourself by roger gould. Its about the mental aspects of compulsive eating I am finding it very helpfull! Its really helping me as I hope to try and tackle the metal aspect of eating before I get banded, though it might make the journey a bit less bumpy! KiKi XX
  19. Hello All, Has anyone ever read a book called Shrink Yourself by Dr Roger Gould? It’s about trying to tackle the issue of emotional eating or head hunger. I have been reading through it and thought as I am finding it helpful others might too. KiKi XX
  20. I don't think familes and tact go together very well! Lucky for me I am an only child so don't have to worry about the fat sister thing! KiKi XX

    BMI rant! Overdone, I know.

I think BMI is a tricky subject at best. I would say do what makes you happy! If having a higher weight makes more sense to you then so be it. I don't think BMI really does men any justice, if you think about it logically most professional athletes would be over weight due to their muscle mass! This whole experience is about you feeling better about yourself and more comfortable in your own skin. Being at too low a weight for you could make you feel as insecure as being bigger could. You’re the boss of you! Sod the BMI! PS pretty sure the power lifting rules out you turning into a chick! KiKi XX

Dr barajas and non adj band

There was also another wls called a vertical gastric band, if its that i nearly had it. It involves a ring or band placed at the top of the stomach which is non adjustable. There is also a fair amount of stomach staples that go with it, it is very invasive. I found a pic for you so you can kinda see what I mean. Vertical Banded Gastroplasty (VBG): Overcoming Obesity Surgical Clinic The results of the operation are not as good as the adjustable gastric band according to studies. I think the recovery time for this operation would be significantly more than having the lapband due to the fact it is so much more invasive. Also I dont think this operation is normally done with keyhole surgery either so there may be more scaring. Hope this helps! KiKi XX
  23. Oh my god! I had completely forgotten about but you have such a pretty face comments! People that roll that comment out should be lined up against a wall and have cheeseburgers thrown at them!
