Just for Fun ... Describe yourself to me!
MissWilde replied to serenity55's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi Debbie, My name is Kerry, I am five foot five tall I currently weigh 260 pounds. I have an english accent, and live in the south of England. I have dark shoulder length hair and dark hazel eyes. I am described as slightly exotic looking what ever that means! I love my friends and family and love to spend time with them. I work as an administrator at a University and also part time in the family beauty salon. My main passion is reading but I don't always have a lot of free time to get to it! Looking forward to hearing your description. Love Kerry XoXo -
I don't have a nike plus but I have one of the 3rd gen Nano's and it rocks my world! You can even download films to watch on it and the picture quality is excellent. I have also had a shuffle which I also loved but I put it through the washing machine by mistake gutted  Ki X

I know what you mean on the novelty front! Every one and their dog has been in to see me at work I have been feeling a bit like a freak show lol. I am healing really well and am really happy with that, I was on a sloppy diet straight away mash and yoghurt and stuff. I have not really had any low moods which is nice I had been expecting some! Sorry to hear you have been feeling a bit that way :grouphug: PM me if you wanna chat K XX

Hi Ciaran, I had mine done on the 12th :grouphug: How you feeling so far? Ki X

I think pre op and post op diet vary so much from Doctor to Doctor. I am on day 8 after being banded, and my Doctor recommends starting with some solider type food like toast, corn flakes and soft fruit. I has been on a soft/sloppy diet for a week previous to today which was yoghurt, mash potato and custard, that kinda consistancy. I think the important thing is to listen to your body I managed a slice of toast this morning not all in on go though! But everyones recovery is diffrent! None of that was prob any help at all sorry lol!

Hey Wendy, I am in the UK too! Glad they have sorted out your port well done on the 4 stone :rolleyes2: Ki XX

Who's getting banded in June
MissWilde replied to To be free's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi there I was banded on 12th June. All went well I was up and about the same day walking round the ward and stuff. I have been on a sloppy diet for the last week yoghurt and mash potato that kinda thing! Today my diet sheet said I can have a slice of toast whoop! I only managed about half of it! My experience has been relatively pain free and have not suffered from any gas pain. My port is still a little tender but all in all healing well! I had my last pain killer on Tue and can happily sleep on my side with the port in it. I have not been exercising per se just getting up and about more. My friends and family have been very supportive, and I had my op on the Thurs and was back at work on the Monday to be fair though my job is very sedate. I still can’t get over how small my scars are going to be! I had them checked by the nurse and they are all healing well. :rolleyes2::thumbup::smile2::huh2::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol: -
Hey Amisha, Well count me out for the singing! I was banded on the 12th June, we are about the same size I started out at 280 ish. I did a week pre op diet and lost about 12lbs on that. I have not weighed myself as yet mostly because I don't own any scales lol. I think recovery just goes to show how diffrent we all are. I had the surgery on the Thurs and went back to work on the Monday! food wise my Dr is one of the less strict I was on a sloppy diet straight off stuff like yoghurt and Soup. I have not had a headache since the op but the pre op diet gave me a killer headache for the first couple of days! I have been taking a low dose of painkillers (ibuprofen) and that seems to do the job a treat. I have not really had a massive amount of pain at all I would say for me "uncomfortable" was more accurate, I am sorry to hear you are suffering :smile2: As for the sex I could prob manage it now if I went on top, and there was no accidental knocking of my port site, unfortunatly I am short of the man to do it with! Hope you feel better soon  KiKi XX

I'm losing weight and starting to get cold feet
MissWilde replied to zeama's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think having second thoughts about any surgery is common. Hell I even debated if I really really needed my wisdom teeth out! If your unsure perhaps you might want to consider pushing your surgery back to a later date give yourself some time to think about it. Ultimately you have do do whats right for you, trust your gut feeling errrr so to speak! I hope everything works out for you XX -
We should start that thread I am sure we all have stuff you don't wanna ask your nearest and dearest!

Hi Jetti, A wax normally lasts between 3 to 6 weeks really depends on the person we all grow our hair at diffrent rates! Your could have it done now and see how you look before your holiday :wink2: It may not need redoing you might get away with a quick tidy up with some tweezers! KiKi XX

Hi All, Just something I wanted to get of my chest! My family are supporting me in having my decision to have wls, but would rather I did not have surgery and go the "traditional" weight loss route. I grew up as an only child my Mum and Dad split when I was 9 and my Mum married another guy he has kids but they are a lot older then me and married with kids when I eventually met my step sister. So I am seen as the baby of the family and kinda still clumped in with the kids really bearing in mind I am 30 lol! In the UK a well know talk show host has recently made public she had a lapband (Fern Britton), so as you can imagine there has been a lot on the TV about Gastric Banding. Turns out my stepdad bless him recognised that was the same op I am planning to have and sat and watched a whole segment on Gastric Banding and rang me to tell me he now fully understands everything that is going to happen and thinks the woman that had it done looks amazing. It may not sound like much but it touched me that he took the time to sit down and find out a bit more about it, sometimes it's the little things that choke you up! Have a nice day everyone! KiKi XX

I think it was only 3 months or so for the initial surgical appointment, not long so theoretically speaking its aprox an 8 month wait. They have specialist facilities too. They asked about my curent diet previous weightloss attempts that kinda thing it was more to see if I was a suitable candidate. They also showed me the lapbad they we going to put in. it was very cool and they were all very nice.
-
I am feeling fine about it! Did you know you can now pick the hospital you have your treatment at? The wait at Chichester is 5 months form your initial surgical consultation. The had a back log so I have had to wait 6 but it flew by! I had my surgial evaluation on Dec 8th 2007. K XX

Ok this is a little know fact that might make it worth it for you all! It much more sensitive to touch after the wax, as all the hair has been removed all the ladies report back that things are much more enjoyable! K XX

Perhaps I am Not Bright Enough to be Banded
MissWilde replied to sistasassy's topic in The Gals' Room
Well done you! I was nursing a bit of a hangover the day I sprayed deodarant on my hair! No excuse for me either just not paying attention lol K XX -
Also if you have any wax on you soap and water will take an age to get it off - Baby Oil will get it straight off! Also after waxing larger ladies or ladies with skin folds can be prone to sweat rash time to dust of the talc!

Sorry missed a couple of things, you can keep your top half clothing and there will be towels to protect your modesty:) A brazilian can take up to aprox 30 mins to do but all depends how hairy you are dowstairs! It should last up to 4 weeks, this first is the worst because you are removing more hair the first time round. Hair grows in cycles so after the 4 weeks all your really getting is a tidy up so yes the second one will be less painfull, another tip the longer the pubic hair the more painfull the wax! Your waxer may trim your pubic hair first before waxing. Do we talk about clients? No! We don't have time the only time we talk about them is if they are rude! We don't care what your body looks like we have seen it all before and normally several times that day! Its not all supermodel looking women that go to the beauty salon it's 98% normal looking ladies women like us that have had babies, and want that stubborn hair on their chin removed! If any thing it makes me happy as a waxer that there are other folk like me that are not picture perfect! Tipping is nice but we don't expect it! For example on a £30 manicure (aprox $60) I am more than happy if someone leaves me £2.00 (aprox $4). KiKi XX

Hi SanDiegoSusan, Well I guess first off you need to know whats what, you can have a variety of waxes Standard - where they remove anything thats growing outside your kincker line and a small amount underneath the knicker lines just a general tidy up for this you get to keep you knickers and its advisable to wear a pair of standard cotton ones that you dont mind if the waxer happenes to get a bit of wax on you. Avoid tight fitting knickers for this as the friction on the newly waxed skin can cause the skin to dry out and peel off. Brazilian - everything but a small landing stip is left behind this can vary in width depending on client prefrence. This wax is designed for people that want to wear the smallest of bikinis or knickers so you can appriciate that they wax everywhere not for people that are modest or shy! For the best results and straightness of the landing strip its best not to wear knickers. Also you need to be prepared to be getting on your hands and knees so the can wax you bottom crack, the hair can be accessed in diffrent ways if you don't think you can manage that but hands and knees is the standard. Hollywood - is just a step further from the Brazilian same wax no landing strip! Vegas - For this you need a very skilled waxer with a bit of imagination! Shapes are waxed in to the pubic hair and dimante is added with a skin friendly glue, you can expect them to stay on for a couple of days. Kinda cute for a special occasion! Ok ladies couple of tips for you wax take some painkillers 30-45mins in advance that will take off some of edge. Go to the salon in loose fitting dark clothes you will be thankfull after. Don't go when you are due your TOM your body is far more sensitive and it WILL hurt more. No hot baths or showers for 24 hrs your pores are open and it can cause extra ingrown hairs. Whatever you do don't fake tan before as the wax will remove the tan and for at least 48 hours after as you will get a "plucked chicken" effect! There are 2 diffrent types of wax avaliable hot wax is the preffrable for bikini waxing as it is better for removing deep set hairs, but it is perfectly exceptable to use warm wax. You might notice some slight bruising in the area on the whole if your waxer is experienced this does not happen, but to be honest it happens to the best of us now and again as everyones skin is diffrent. Also you might notice some blood spots where you have been waxed this again is very normal as pubic hair is very deep rooted and dense. Happy waxing ladies! KiKi XX

Hi Pix, my Mum owns a beauty salon I have had Brazilains, Hollywoods and a Vegas (What are they all named after places?) You want to aim for 2 to 3 days before he gets back, the day before at the very latest! I am also trained as a waxer if you have specific questions PM me and I can tell you anything you need to know :cursing: KiKi XX
