Today is pre op for surgery next Thursday, 05 October. Doing well on Optifast800 2 week surgery prep diet. Except its boring. It does taste better than when I started it. I love the tomato & chicken soups. The vegetable was not tasty to me.
Drinking unsweetened hot tea, nothing in it. Decaf constant comment is very satisfying, surprisingly. I had already given up caffeine about 2 weeks before 1st surgery consultation, so not missing that.
Did have a "bump" with cardiologist, but good communication sorted it out. My surgeon normally has you discontinue statin type drugs after surgery. I take a shot & low dose statin because I have CAD, and a failed triple bypass. SO, I stay on the shot & low dose statin. Getting two busy docs to talk is always fun, but surgeon has great staff as does cardiologist.
Family is being incredible supportive. I knew my husband was, but the two daughters I've told are just right there. The other two are not "touchy feely" and don't like over-sharing. But feeling overall positive and NERVOUS, even though this is my 18th surgery, some very major.
