How long did gas pain last?

Personally for me I had my vsg on the 18th, it's now the 23rd and I still have gas pains. I have walked, taken stuff etc...still there. If I could sleep on my stomach I could probably get it out quicker but it's too painful. Incision pain is still there, but only mild to me during the day, it's different at night...i only take a pain pill before I go to bed to help me sleep through the gas and pain. Everyone is different is what I keep hearing. Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app

I was told the protein shakes count as my water also. Cuz I question drinking 64 oz of water and getting in 60 grams of protein how are you supposed to do that. My dietitian was very helpful Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app

Try putting in the unflavored injury protein into the broth, I do that if I don't get my shakes in...oh I did pick up some sugarless jello, Amazing! I haven't had Jello in years and to ReDiscover the taste of it I try to treat it as a special snack during the day. I know you're saying that some things are sweet I picked up the sugar less popsicles that we used to eat when we were kids that come in Orange strawberry and I can't remember the other flavor today and I ate 1. It wasn't bad but it still tasted kind of sweet to me but I could deal with it Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app

Well i do understand...have you tried chicken broth? I heat it up in a coffee cup and sip with a spoon, it takes a bit but can get it down. As for sleeping, I like to sleep on my back sometimes but I took all the pillows on my bed and stack them up behind me as if I was in a hospital bed to raise me up and I can sleep that way. But sometimes I will turn on my side and put a pillow in front of my belly to lift it up a little bit and I can sleep on my side. Did the doctor give you pain pills to take home with you? The only other thing I can tell you is it will get better just try to stick it out. I'm not an expert but I'm finding different ways to deal with the after effects of surgery. Nervous about being sleeved 9/25/2017

I am laying here reading this after I had my sleeve done yesterday. I can tell you the nurse will tell you up I got really agitated and anxious and was snapping people's heads off. My mother thankfully was with me the entire way and would try to smooth the path and let everybody know she's just nervous and anxious which did help. If you have somebody that can go with you have them go with you. The staff has been really great where I'm at and I will just reconfirm what everybody else has said and say your prayers, if you have a favorite song say that in your head. One thing I can say which arcs my mother is that I have been looking forward to the end results. That's helped me get through I created a Pinterest board that was private and started putting things on there that I would like to see me be able to accomplish once healing and surgery has been done and I've gone through everything I need to go through. Another thing is since I do love to eat as my dad would say I have found so many recipes for people who have had the sleeve done when they can finally eat that's having me the positive as to what I can look forward to. Find your motivation God is a great motivator singing as a great motivator and then just look forward to your in results and what you want to look like and being healthy.
