Lost my taste for plain water

Oh, I should have added that I drink coffee too. -
February 2019 weight loss buds

Oh gosh, I wish I was in that kind of stall! Mine is losing and gaining the same two pounds for about two weeks now. -
I'm having the same issues. I am 2 lbs heavier today - the scale just keeps going up and down 2 lbs and has done the last couple of weeks.

Lost my taste for plain water

Same here - I LOVED plain water. Only drink zero water now - lemon or orange. -

There are a lot of stomach bugs around right now - could be that. I'm also not losing again. It is SO slow. No throwing up today though, so that's good. -

I just feel - like some people have mentioned - that my stomach is even smaller now! I am just having such a hard time with the psychological piece of this... altering my mind to fit my new way of eating and living. -
February 2019 weight loss buds

Went out for Mother's day yesterday to my favourite Mexican restaurant. Big mistake. I managed a few sips of my margarita and 3 chips and I was full. I did try (god knows why I didn't just give up at that point... habit I guess) to eat some of the quesadilla I ordered but ended up in the bathroom throwing up. So, I now know that going out to eat is not part of my celebrations anymore. At least I know now - the hard way - but I can make some changes. -
I just want to say how horrible this sounds and I'm so sorry you are going through it. What do they do for Barretts?

Just smile and nod and be satisfied that you know in your own mind what's going on... you are getting healthy and they really don't deserve or need to know why or how or any of the details. Don't let their words wound you. Or, you could just tell them to 'p*ss off'.

Update on my stricture and second endoscopy
froufrou replied to Briswife15's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I know I might be mad, but I'm really trying to avoid going back to my dr about this. I am just trying to ride it and see if I can get past it. One major thing is, I just can't financially afford to keep paying for surgeries and procedures. We are out of pocket till we hit $5k deductible and then we pay 30% of everything. With my leak I had with the sleeve, I ended up paying a ton more than I should have. Then the RNY cost a ton and now possibly a stricture... I just can't. -
Update on my stricture and second endoscopy
froufrou replied to Briswife15's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Ugh, you poor thing. Can I just ask... with your restriction, have you found that you have lost any weight, or is your body holding on to every pound? I think I might have a stricture and I've been throwing up a fair bit. You would think that I'd be dropping pounds like crazy, but I haven't. I'm just wondering about your experience. -

Thank you Anna - I appreciate you thinking of me. I'm doing ok now... for now. Well done on that milestone! I briefly reached one of mine yesterday... scale said I was down to 265, which makes it 100 loss. BUT, of course today I have bounced back up a pound. I guess I dared to keep some food down yesterday. -

I have been wondering if I have a stricture for a while, but yes... the food goes down, so I'm really confused. It's like the mucus comes up and maybe a bit of food, but sometimes none. It's mainly about half a cup or so of mucus (sorry to be graphic!) and I then feel better once it's come up and like I have more room in my pouch. I'm seeing my surgeon on Wednesday, so we'll see what he has to say. It's so weird! That's terrible that you haven't been able to keep food down -

He didn't say anything except for 'no', so I'm guessing I'm not at death's door. Hopefully! I'm seeing him Wednesday so I will ask him to elaborate. In the meantime, I am just not feeling great. I have a few good days and then I have a couple of days where I'm throwing up, but not food... mucus. Right now I'm feeling really sick to my stomach and threw up all the liquid I had drunk. What was worrying was seeing a tiny (I do mean tiny) amount of blood, but that's probably just because I've irritated my esophagus right? -

I've been throwing up mucus still, after eating - a ton of it today. Not every meal, but I'd say at least every other day. I just texted my surgeon to ask if this is normal and I just get a response of 'no'. O_o -

Weighing in at the doctor's office

Does anyone else hold their breath when they get on the scales at the doctor's? -
What do they mean you can't get the procedure again? The sleeve? Maybe that's true, but what about RNY??

February 2019 weight loss buds

My hair fell out a lot after my Gastric Sleeve, but so far with RNY it hasn't. I really think the hairloss happens more when you drop a huge amount very quickly. -

Yes - sept '17 I had the Sleeve. Got a leak two days later and spent nearly 3 months in hospital... 6 surgeries to try to fix it. I lost 80 lbs though, probably because during those 3 months nothing, not even water, passed my lips. Then I got stuck in a plateau for a while and after everything that happened... I got a bit depressed. Put on 25 lbs and my surgeon suggested RNY, so I did that and here I am. -

Yay, hard work is paying off... lost a pound! I'm 3 lbs away from a 100 pound total loss (via sleeve and bypass). I can't quite believe it. -
I'm not in the UK, but I am from the UK. I just wanted to say hi I've seen some other Brits around here and I'm sure they can give you some pointers.

Not only would it save me a ton of calories, but also a ton of money! I don't realise how expensive these coffees are... until I add it up my weekly coffee spend! Ouch! Bye bye starbucks. -
Overeaters Anonymous - Should I go??

How dare they be judgemental - they have no right. I'm sorry you were made to feel that way. Most of us have done weight loss every which way and none of it is easy!
