Having thought about this over night and looking up the symptoms of Chronic Gastritis, I really think this is causing me all of my issues lately, and I am wondering why on earth I was not prescribed medication at the time of my endo results. I'm pretty pissed off. Today I'll get hold of some antacid medication and see if it helps me.

They might be able to do a temporary one... are you still in hospital now? I had the same problem - could not pee, so they put the catheter in over night and took it out before I went home. Good luck with peeing!

When I had my endoscopy before RNY (to see what my anatomy looked like after my failed sleeve), I was diagnosed with chronic gastritis. I was told by the endo that it's very common and didn't do anything else... should I have been given medication for it do you think?

Bariatric surgery was a big mistake
froufrou replied to Alvinchicago's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I just read your post again. Firstly, I still cannot believe you weren't given a diet sheet or informed about your diet post surgery. If this is really truly the case, contact your surgeon's office and talk to them. They have nutritionists there who can help you find your way. Secondly, it sounds like you aren't just angry at the surgery, but maybe also angry that life doesn't and can't revolve around food any more. I get that. it's really hard. It's been a huge brain adjustment for all of us but you can make it and it does get better. I really hope that you can reach out to your surgeon's office and try to get some support. Maybe sign up with a support group near you, and definitely use this board. The people here are lovely. -
Bariatric surgery was a big mistake

You knew all of the ups and downs before going in to surgery. Yes, it's tough. Yes there are risks. But, you are given all of this information going into it. Actually, for some of us it's the only way we can lose weight. Even though I spent 3 months in hospital with a leak in my sleeve and now after RNY a possible stricture or ulcer, I am glad I did it. But, I did my research and I weighed up the risks and for me at 368 pounds... I knew I wasn't going to live much longer and my daughter needs me so much more than I need food. -
I don't think it's a stricture because some stuff stays down. But I am getting sick after some food - I throw up most days at least once a day. I have pain on my left side under my rib and some nights I wake up fighting nausea out of nowhere. I also feel burning around my sternum, but that could be from the throwing up I've done I guess.

Yes - I had a revision too and when I woke up from surgery I honestly thought the surgeon had ripped out my left ovary because it was SO painful. The pain lasted a good 2-3 weeks afterwards. It does go though. Hang in there.

February 2019 weight loss buds
froufrou replied to TheMarine79's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Hi - It hangs around for about an hour I'd say - it wakes me up out of a sleep and I just kind of lay there till it goes away and then fall back asleep. It's really painful... crampy feelings across my middle and fullness under my bottom left rib. I don't have my gallbladder - that went back in 1994. I'm not eating gassy foods before bed and have been trying to make sure I don't eat much at all before bed to see if that helps. I'm going to try taking some colace or miralax and see if that helps, but I guess it's another trip to my surgeon's office if this doesn't go away in a couple of days! -
February 2019 weight loss buds

This last week, I'd say the last 4 nights, I have woken up with terrible stomach pains. It's under my left rib and spreads across my middle. What it feels like is trapped air, but I'm not sure. It wakes me out of a deep sleep! Has anyone else had this and does anyone have any tips on how to get rid of this? -
Sounds like gallbladder issues!

Day 1 - I'm in SO MUCH PAIN - advice please

Ask for Dilaudid - worked better than morphine for me. -
With both sleeve and RNY I have lost hair at 3 months - I'm getting tons of shedding right now. It grows back
-
Just keep on keeping on!
-
So that's still nearly 50 lbs, which is really great. I also have lost over 100 lbs (45 since RNY) and I'm just wondering if my body needs to rest for a moment and readjust. I don't know. Are you getting in all of your protein and water? I haven't been so maybe that's my problem...
-
I have had both. For me, I was determined to do the sleeve despite my surgeon saying that Bypass is the Cadillac of surgeries. I thought that RNY just seemed so... final. I wasn't ready to commit. So I had the sleeve and I can tell you that for ME, I woke up from surgery hungry and I stayed hungry. Then had a complication, but that's neither here nor there when it comes to choosing my surgery. forward to this February and I had RNY. Sooooo much better (for ME). I wasn't hungry. I now feel restriction where I didn't before. I don't feel weird or that different, except that I feel like my tool is working for me now. Good luck with choosing! Maybe just think about your reasons for wanting one over the other and analyse that.

How about wearing capri leggings instead - something with a bit of hold to them? -

The scales say I have lost a lb this morning, though I'm not going to believe it till it's the same or lower for a few days. I'm starting to get the hair shed... 3 months, that's about right. Fortunately, even though I have fine hair, I have a lot of it. It's temporary - it'll grow back. -
Wow, that's crazy seeing it there in black and white. I'm glad I'm not the only one this happens to!

Obviously you can skip the honey and substitute with some low sugar jam. I haven’t done the nutrition stats on this... -

Home made goats cheese balls. Goats cheese, egg and panko breadcrumbs. None left! By the way even the panko breadcrumbs have 4g protein so not bad. -

@Everythinganna - could you try mixing your wine with a bit of water and some ice cubes? My transfer addiction is definitely shopping. I already had a bit of a problem before I started this, but it got worse for a while. I am now trying REALLY hard to not do that and be aware of what I'm doing. Same with Starbucks Frappucinos... I could have one of those every day. Yesterday I swapped it out for an iced americano. -

@Transforming_T - I'm a revision too. I had gastric sleeve surgery and lost weight, then gained and now I've lost since bypass. I've lost 41 lbs since Feb 5th
