  1. Quest and One are my go-tos. One has a maple glazed donut flavor that is really good and they are soft so they go down pretty easily. I like the Premier Protein too but they are higher in calories so I usually eat about half when I have one.

    Is Watermelon ok to eat?

My wife is 4 weeks out and she loves watermelon. It hasn't hurt her yet. It's mostly water so I think it would help towards the fluid goal too.
  3. She’s doing better each day. Just moved to purées and getting more water in. Im really proud of her.

    Takis/Spicy Food

I tolerate spicy very well. In fact, maybe better than I used to. I always use hot peppers, hot sauce, anything spicy.
  5. Sure do. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCnfmPl8TAl49Y3YRkli27fQ

    Low Testosterone

My testosterone was recently tested by my PCP and it was found to be low. I have to be tested one more time before they decide if it needs to be treated but due to sexual issues and overall fatigue, she thought it would be worth a shot. I was reading up online and apparently this surgery (bypass) or any number of factors related can cause Low T. I think I've been dealing with it for a while but has anyone here dealt with it pre or post surgery? If you were treated after testing, how did you feel?
  7. She actually started hot tea yesterday and she's doing pretty well so I'm happy about that.

    I'm under 300!

    Thank you
  9. I'm at 299.8 and still have a long way to go but I'm thrilled to be under 300. I started at 369 (at the beginning of my 6 month program in September) and was at 347 the day I had surgery. Just wanted to share my happiness.

    Post surgery depression?

I definitely hit a bout of depression after surgery. It’s such and adjustment and I feel partly that there is so much build up and excitement leading up, the it eventually settles and also your body adjusting too. I was suffering from mental illness anyway but things have been getting better. Don’t rule out meds. Maybe give it some time but if you need help, maybe look into it.

    April Bypass Updates?!

Hello. Mine was 4/2. I started off at 369 last September at my first weigh in. I weigh 300.4 now. I’m not 100% on what exactly I weighed at the beginning of surgery. I’ll have to ask. Overall I feel great. Went down 2 pant sizes and 1-2 shirt sizes and my confidence is up.
  13. My wife recently had her surgery (I had mine in April) and she’s not feeling so hot. I know things fall into place and you start feeling better over time but she’s become depressed because of the constant nausea and being unable to comfortably drink. She said it feels like her drinks are getting stuck on the way down and her stomach bubbles when she does get it down. She’s tried ice chips and eats popsicles which works decently but she says she can’t quench her thirst because it’s hard for her to drink. She goes back to work Tuesday and I want to help her feel better. Any tips no matter how big or small? Thanks.
  14. Yep me too. I use the BBQ sauce too and a bunch of other things.
  15. For the past couple of weeks everything has been good. Starting on solid food initially I had some things I couldn't eat, mostly fish and chicken that was a little dry but I've had good luck. Admittedly I'm not introducing a whole lot of new foods at once but what I am eating I'm tolerating.
