I want that black dress. Unfortunately, I've got nowhere to go once I have it. It's like "Say Yes to the Dress", I love all the gowns but am already married...so what do I need with a wedding dress?? And I wouldn't look as half as good in it as you do, November11!

Talk to your gynecologist. He/she might suggest hormone replacement therapy. That should help with your sex drive!

Wow! Just 10 weeks out? You look great!

Worried I’m making a wrong choice
JRT Mom replied to bthompson82's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yes, you may have lost sixty pounds before, but you gained it all back I assume? Most of us here have lost and gained over and over, and are STILL obese. Since you have diabetes and other issues it's clear that your weight is making you unhealthy. Getting WLS should be a more permanent solution and will help with your diabetes. Like NYlady sez, it's YOUR body and YOUR health. Getting support from family is nice, but ultimately the decision is yours! -
Saggy Sophie no more. Plastic surgery to the rescue!
JRT Mom replied to Sophie7713's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
You look amazing! My boobs look just like your "before" picture. I don't know if y'all watch South Park on TV but I look just like the teacher Ms Choksondik, especially because like her, I wear no bra. Smart use of a clothes hangar to hold all those drains! Maybe start wrapping them in yarn and sell them on Etsy! Sort of a niche market, though... -
I would think it would be hormonal rather than a side effect of WLS. If anything, I think the WLS would make one's sex drive higher, since better self-esteem and confidence comes with losing weight, and that helps bring the sexy back!

Hi there! Come join us here on the other side! Be sure to take some "before" pictures because you're going to do great!

Weight Loss Stall
JRT Mom replied to TheNewNay2019's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Almost EVERYONE has a major stall at three months. I'm two months out and already had bunches of mini-stalls so I am not looking forward to a major one at three months. From what I've read here, stick with your plan and it WILL resolve itself. Hopefully some of the veterans will post and give you some pointers! -
Recipe, please? I am trying to make stuffed peppers out of quinoa and Quorn crumbles. Tastes OK but falls apart once it's out of the peppers....

I am having my surgery in 8 days
JRT Mom replied to Money s's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hey, it'd be worth a try! Since you can eat Jello I don't see why you couldn't eat protein shake jello! Let us know how it turns out! -
Welcome! Come here often as each time you do you will learn something new, and the more you know before your WLS the better prepared you will be and less fearful and nervous about your surgery. Do you know what type of surgery you want yet?

The only marathons I do are the ones that come on TV🤣 Seriously, good luck with your marathon! I ran in my younger days before my feet and knees went bad. The longest race I did was a half-marathon on a really hilly course and it really messed with my mind. So make sure your runs include hills!

* 7 LBS AWAY FROM HEALTHY BMI *
JRT Mom replied to New&Improved's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's epic! -
I went for 8 days and decided it was time for an intervention. I went out and bought a bottle of Miralax and it worked great--right before I took it, I had a BM!!! I guess just the threat to my bowels scared the crap out of them.

Anyone else NOT have a pre-op diet?? Mine is day before only. 🤷🏻♀️
JRT Mom replied to newchange16's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Mine was a liquid diet but was only for four days. The only thing that was a pain in the butt was the hospital was 5 hours away and I took the train and went up the day before surgery, so I had to drag all that liquid stuff with me! -
Has anyone chosen to shed relationships as well as pounds post surgery?
JRT Mom replied to RobertaMSN's topic in The Lounge
Awww, this is sad. It's hard to hear that relationships can be ended due to WLS. But I think that rather than the outward appearance of people it is the new-found confidence and the loss of the need for codependency that allows us to shed relationships that weren't healthy in the first place. -
For those who have lost 100+ pounds
JRT Mom replied to lbugher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I haven't lost 100 pounds, but thirty, and I ALREADY can tell a vast difference in my knees. Even that weight loss is helpful if you have osteoarthritis in your joints. -
Congrats! Welcome to the other side! The water was a problem for me also, just keep sipping at it and it WILL get easier. The walking really helps also. Once you get home you'll start to feel better right away. Ease into the drinking--don't expect to be able to chug down 64 ounces right away. I'm two months out and my nutritionist is satisfied that I can usually only get in 48 ounces a day. Not all of us are camels...😁 Oh yeah, what Uomograsso said--those sugar free popsicles are a lifesaver!

Your Little Helpful Niche?
JRT Mom replied to Khoric Ritter's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have a plastic collapsible one half cup measuring cup that goes everywhere with me. I know if I try eyeballing the food I'll eat too much. I started with the tiny spoons but once I got used to eating little bites I stopped using them. I also use the 8 oz ramekins--mine have a decorative etching around them that is one half cup. -
Before I got my RNY I didn't even think about eating--I ate when I was hungry, but didn't give it any thought. Now that I've had the RNY all I think about all day is eating--not because of hunger, but because this is such a process now! Plan all those vitamins, drink all that water, eat your protein--it seems like all day I'm either eating, taking pills, or drinking! It's certainly not mindless any more--it almost takes a day planner to get it all done. I have a pill box like an old granny lady. Does it get to the point where it is a bit more "organic" and less of a job?

Protein Drinks Isopure
JRT Mom replied to angela256z's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Weeeeeellllll, they're NOT exactly fruity and light...they have a touch of not-entirely-thinness and a tad of the protein aftertaste, but they are waaaaay better than those cloying chalky shake type protein drinks. They aren't too sweet. Maybe I need to try some other flavors--I've just had the blue raspberry and the passion fruit ones. -
What Jake said!!

Cheated and disgusted
JRT Mom replied to Celeste kimberly's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't beat yourself up over this. It will be more important not to cheat AFTER your surgery than before. You are NOT a failure--you are looking to change your life with WLS..that makes you a winner! The only thing you should be disgusted with is choosing vegemite to cheat with! (just kidding, sorta...😁)
