I am down 75lbs since surgery weight,, and over 100lbs from highest weight now. I am extremely happy and most of my health issues have gone down or totally away now. So thankful everyday for taking this journey! Hw:277 Sw:244 Cw:169 Gw: 245

I had my sleeve done august 29, 2017, and my menstruation cycle was normal till january. Then poof it was gone, no more, not even spotting. Now i am 46, did i go thru menopause and not even notice. Or is this just the beginning of menopause because all 3 of my older sisters went thru it in their 40's. Went to DR today to have a full woman's well check to make sure. Has anyone else experienced the same thing? Now it will be a few days for blood test results come back, and DR did say that a big weight loss will do the same thing. Your pretty young for menopause, but Dr told me that too and im now post-menopause. You could be starting on track for pre. I to totally understand aunt flo losing your address because i was so happy she lost mine! Lol definitely make appt with Dr to make sure everything is good though😀

Saw my Dr yesterday for a. Wls checkup, said i wasn't losing fast enough.....what? Wants me to try and lose 30lbs by the end of august to surpass my goal by one year of 145. I dont get it, very frustrated. He believes i need to be between 125-135 for my height of 5'4", i dont feel that is realistic. Anyone have a similar issue? HW:277 SW:244 GW:145 CW:169 DR. GW:125-135

I agree with everyone, felt bad only a few days after surgery and was up walking around the very next day. I was driving within the first week as well, but i did not take any pain pills as well because i really didnt need them. Goodluck to you Hw:277 SW:244 CW:170 GW:145 SD: 8/29/18

My surgery was august 29th and my weight loss came to a still for almost 2 months. When i talked to my WLS DR he had me up my protein, and lots of water. This month the weight just started dropping again. Hope that helps, as far as when you will plateau its different for everyone. It could be 12-16 months after surgery.

Be proud and dont stand down!! You have alot to be proud of! But of course, we all got your back here. I cant even get anyone to say nothing about my weight loss, besides my mom and sisters. Not even my own husband cant tell me im looking good, and his family, not even.

You got this girl!! I have a family wedding to go to Saturday, and im kinda dreading it. You know cake, unhealthy foods, alcohol....SMH gotta stay strong!😄

I know exactly how you feel, because its the same with me! Im still buying clothes that are to big because its my comfort zone. I dont feel good in smaller clothes, i like to hide under them. Its been emotionally hard on me and im not sure why. Dont get me wrong i love that i have lost over 100lbs from my highest weight, and over 70lbs since surgery weight. Im healthier, i can jog now, and even mow my grass without having to rest every 15 minutes! Its just mentally, and emotionally not excepting myself. Hopefully my head will catch up to my body and not think everybody is still talking about me.

Ever see yourself as the same big person as you was before your weight loss? When i look at before and after pics, i still dont see that big of a difference. Happy im losing, but sad that it doesnt look like much. SD:8/29/17 SW:244 CW: 173

I did not go thru 12 months without a cycle, i understand that when you do it is called post-menopause as well. That is why i did not understand how i was at only 3months and absolutely no signs of pre or menopause at all. My dr. told me according to my blood test results my hormone levels were showing post-menopause. Now i was completely surprised and not understanding how that was possible, but it is. I was just one of the few who did not have symptoms or irregular cycles like most woman do going thru the menopause changes. As stated earlier, thought it was because weight loss or pre-menopause, that's why i asked for help wondering if this had happened to anyone else. Thank you for everyones replies, much appreciated.

Wow, didnt think you could have a cycle after post-menopause. Maybe that does have something to do with the weight loss. Would love to know what your Dr says come your appt. Please let me know😉

So i just got my tests results back from my Dr and she said i am post-menopause. Huh? At 46? Why didn't i even know? Apparently, some woman dont show any symptoms. I lost alot of hair around 3 months out and on, it has just now started to slow down and getting its thickness back at almost 9 months post-op. It comes back i promise, my hair is curly and shoulder length. I would flip my hair upside down spray and gel underneath and that would with making it more fuller looking.

I need to ask my August sleevers about their monthly cycles. Tried starting my own thread for help, but really didnt get the help i was hoping for. I am 46 years old and I have always had a normal monthly cycle, then in january i only spotted for a couple days and then poof nothing since. Now i did see a gynecologist yesterday who took blood, pap smear, and urine tests. But wont know results for awhile. Dont know if its because of menopause, or because of all the weight i have lost. Dr said it could be either one, just not sure about all of this. Would be nice not to deal with it anymore, but is the monthly going to come back? Has this happened to anyone else? Did i go thru menopause, and not even know it? Help!!!!

My DR did say it could have the reverse results if i was in menopause. I know its been only 3 months of no cycle, but i sure have enjoyed it!!! Hope it stays away...😀

Totally agree with fluffyChix, try cutting protein shakes down to one a day. Eat real food, it should help. Im 8 months out and only drink a protein shake maybe once a week, went thru a 3 week stall as well. We all will go thru one sooner or later, just hang in there and dont get caught up on weighing yourself alot. HW:277 SW:244 CW: 176 GW:145

I dont fly, but went into a regular small dressing room to try on clothes, and i was actually able to move around it!! Enjoy your flight, would love to exchange places with you in Australia!
