I think 14lbs in 7 days is incredible. Are you drinking enough protein liquids? Don't want to have a shell of a body in the process! Lol! Just make sure you are following the full liquid stage (or whatever stage your Dr has you on right now), so you are healthy! Oh! Take your vitamin supplements! I'm on full liquids (or liquids, soups and squishy foods as I like to call it) til he end of next week, then the following Monday I go to puréed- can't wait!

Pureed food ideas
ratcat2 replied to newlifebegins2017's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I start the puréed phase in seven days. I can have soft cooked eggs, and anything that doesn't require chewing. Example puréed sweet potato, puréed dark meat chicken, puréed fruits, etc. My doctor says if you have to chew it then it's not puréed so just pulverize it. Lol. -
I'm on day 8! Feel free to chat! I'm glad you are taking charge of your life at such a young age. I have battled with my weight for my entire life and now I am 48 and I've just made the decision to do this. 3 years ago I lost 87 pounds and kept it off for a long time but it just came back because of a weakness in certain foods. my doctor told me I knew what to do I was just using a broken shovel. He said this weight-loss surgery would aid to me with a working shovel and would help me be successful. So how has your week post op been? Mine is pretty good so far except I had to have a hiatal hernia repair during my procedure and that has caused me some swallowing issues that should result in time. Can't wait for puréed foods after the end of next week.

I'm on day 8 and my diet says refined grits too, but they don't work well for me after the unexpected hiatal hernia repair that I had to have when I got my lap band. Dr told me yesterday to change over to soft eggs since they have protein and the grits do not. Could you try that? Other than that, I like the Premier protein shakes in caramel and strawberries and cream, and I ete sugar free Jell-O, sugar-free pudding with the fancier flavors in the fridge section (mousse, dulce de leche), cream-based soup's that have no chunks or strain them.

September 2017 Gastric Sleeve Surgery!
ratcat2 replied to Angel11's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Mine was the day after yours. Starting to fee much better but the unexpected hiatal hernia surgery during my procedure has my esophagus and diaphragm feeling really tight. Even water feels like a bubble forms around it and like it is getting stuck. I thought it first that it was because of the lap band, but the doctor said yesterday that it is the hernia repair causing the problems. I'm on a full liquid diet until the end of next week and then I get to try puréed foods and I can hardly wait. How has your time been since your surgery? -

I like premier protein (strawberries and cream, caramel). Syntrax nectar (powder) is good too (Oreo, truffle, strawberrry and many others). For convenience I like premier. -

I'm just now on full liquids. Surgery was 9/14. Clear liquids for Days 1-4, Full liquids for Days 4-14, then puréed foods and then soft foods. Are you still on clear liquids or full? On full liquids milky grits counts, as well as high protein yogurt, pudding, protein shakes. -

Had my band and hernia repair yesterday, sept 14, 2017. When home from hospital felt like hell. Lots of pain on left side of my body, from abdomen and up through ribcage and into arm, shoulder and neck. Dr and nurse told me it's gas from where the abdomen was expanded and that it should go away soon. Walk more to help. No appetite, but am making myself try to eat broth, juice, water and jello. Nothing has any taste to me. Hopefully this will all lead to a much better life around the corner!! -
Mine is this Thursday. I'm so nervous! I think there are lots of positive outcomes, so if we work the program right- we should be successful!!
