Well my process has officially started
volsfan17 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey folks. My name is Will. I am 35 years old. I had the sleeve in 2015 and to this day it has not worked. I regret doing some of the things I've done but some of it is due to part of the surgery. I met today with another bariatric surgeon and he's agreed to do the bariatric Bypass on me. Said that would be the best option for me. I should get a call from the program coordinator tomorrow and get my dates for the testing I have to have prior to surgery. Luckily I don't have a 6 month supervised diet thing. Just an upper GI test and a couple other easy things. Dr said I'm looking at 1-3 months for a surgery date. I'm excited and nervous at the same time. Not trying to be boring but thought I'd just share my journey so far. I'm thinking of going for a second opinion with another recommended surgeon on Friday. Thanks Will -

Well I would tell you that some things that will help you with you having had the sleeve. Your protein shake intake and vitamins are CRUCIAL not necessarily the vitamins with the sleeve but the protein and meal size are very crucial. Excercise when you can as much as possible. Water water water will be your best friend. Don't eat too much in your meals. That's key. Good luck with your journey. -

Hey man. Thanks for the questions and support. Prior to my sleeve I remember weighing 397 At my one month follow up I weighed 385. So that was starting to make me feel good. But the thing is I didn't have much more weight loss than that. Maybe a few pounds. Today at this new surgeons office I weighed 412.5 pounds. So something Is defiantly wrong. I can admit some of it is on me tho. He recommended this bypass surgery and said I could easily get down to 240-250 like I'm wanting too. Please feel free to ask anything else. I've been through the sleeve. Ask away -

The surgeon today I met with couldn't exactly tell me why the sleeve didn't hold or work. I was not the best at my eating or getting protein in. He kept saying that the pouch or sleeve just could have gotten bigger and that's what caused me to gain the weight back. I am having an upper GI study done to make sure everything in my stomache is ok. He recommended the bariatric bypass for me though. -

Hi. I lost maybe 35 pounds thru the whole sleeve process. He told me today that with sleeves there is always a chance the sleeve gets enlarged which Means you gain your weight back. -

volsfan17 posted a topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Hey there folks. My name is Will. I'm 35 years old and In 2015 I had the gastric bypass sleeve. I have not lost the weight with that that I wanted to or hoped to. I have contacted a surgeon in my TN area and am going to the pre surgery seminar tomorrow night. Then I have my appt with the head nurse and surgeon on Friday. I'm hoping that he will say I can qualify for the bypass. I'm not happy with my current situation. I'm having stomache pain and discomfort and a lot of diarrhea. Any thoughts or comments would be greatly appreciated Thanks Will -

I have a lot of weight to loose in my eyes. I don't know for sure what's causing the pain. I'm sure they'll have to do a endoscopy again. I fee like it is the only option for me tho if he says it's an option -
