  1. I was touch and go first 3 months. At times meat was a no go, sometimes just anything could set it off. In my 4th month now, as long as I don’t over eat and slow down I’m fine. Think it takes time to heal.

    Bariatric vitamins

I choose to do patches for b vitamins, I couldn't bare the taste of the bariatric advantage b complex pills... nothing can mask that taste. I think I will end up with all patches, with everything going on after surgery, I don't need the extra stress of choking down opened capsules and chews

I'm 3 days post op. Hospital and doctors were great (Inova, Va). The On- Q pain pump has ready numbed the incision sites and medication has effectively controlled internal pain. The doctor also corrected a hiatal hernia which has added some mild discomfort to the chest area. All in, the recovery is much better that I expected.

    Input needed

I had the same feed back, almost as if being able to lead a normal life makes you not fat enough. But 6 meetings later, and seeing the many shapes and sizes on the same road, I had a reality check. I went to complete the pre op tests and I went from heavy my whole life without issues to finding out I did in fact have significant sleep apnea and high cholesterol. Although not major nor restrictive to my day to day activity, I have to wonder how many more failed diets or lose to gain roller coasters would I ride before something really bad happened to my health. I just got to a point I admitted I have never had clear control of my weight and I want to put an end to that lack of control and confidence.

2 week pre-op diet: 4 shakes and 2 protein bars (all bariatric advantage) a banana or cup of skim milk, up to 3 sugar free Jellos a day plus 64 oz of water. By day 3 I was struggling to get banana and last shake in, despite the low calories I am pretty full and loosing weight. 3 days left...

Mine is Thursday, I'm very zen about it, but that could be the 2 week pre-op diet talking.
