So as the post says, I am 7 weeks post op, had surgery back on March 28. I've had a very good recovery, no issues what so ever. I had an appointment with doc and ask for b/c on the 26th of April, as normal they tested for pregnancy and it was negative so they recommended I get an IUD and wait for my period so they can easily place it, I was scheduled for the following week to get the IUD placed but I had to reschedule to the following week because my period did not come. So the appt comes around, still no period but that day I was extremely nauseated and my breast we're sore for what felt like 3 weeks straight. I was also dizzy, when I would get up, I would get light headed. I was tested again, waited 5 mins, 10 mins, 15 mins and I just KNEW something was up. Never in a million years did I think I would be pregnant. After 7 yes without a pregnancy, after 3 miscarriages and 10 yrs of trying, never did I think it would happen, I had given up hope and was Ok with never being a mom. To my surprise and my doctor's, I was pregnant. My doctor did not believe it either when the nurse told her considering my history. Now it's only been 6 days since I've found out and I'm scheduled for a follow up this Monday, I have an ultrasound scheduled for Tuesday and am waiting for a call back from the hospital for the specialist OB, I am considered high risk and they said I need to be monitored closely. I had blood work done and the HCG was over 3k which made me feel good, knowing what I've experienced in my past with those numbers. I was on a regimen of antibiotics for H Pylori post op but I have stopped taking those meds along with the Prilosec since finding out. Per my surgeons office and doc, I should not take them. I am anxious to find out if everything is ok, like I said I feel good and I am eating well also but in the back of my mind, I will ALWAYS have that fear of miscarrying again. However I know God is great and he would not give more than you can take, he would not have blessed me with this, he works in mysterious ways and I am very thankful for my blessings. I will keep updating as I go along as I want to share my experience with others since there is not much knowledge out there with pregnancy post op, especially so soon!

Lmao! Thank you for my first morning laugh, oh gosh. Yes, we did the deed about a week o so out from surgery, the doctor said if I felt good then I could just no swinging from the chandelier lol

*Update* I went to the ER last night due to spotting, they checked me and baby out, everything is good. Heard heart beat and saw the little fetus, I am 6 weeks and 2 days and they said that my HCG levels were slowly rising which signals a slow growth but it could very well just be due to surgery as well so for now we are taking it day by day, I feel good however and we will be keeping s close eye on the pregnancy. I will update further as it goes along. Appreciate everyone's support, prayers & kind words.

You cannot never take in too much liquid. Just pace yourself, you must take it slow, soon you will be in the puree stage and be super thankful lol, I know I sure did get tired of liquids all the time. Any phase really gets tiring, at 7 WKs post op, I was restricted to only cooked protein and protein shakes, they said no more cheese for me I love cheese lol but I guess it for the better to push the weight loss. Hang in there, all of you, it does get better! Oh and make sure you walk, walk & walk! Sent from my Moto E (4) using BariatricPal mobile app

Husband threatens divorce if I have surgery
Mino_IE replied to Copper5's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I agree, I have a difficult husband very hard headed BUT he understands that I need this because nothing else has worked. If he is truly there for you and loves you he will support you and not discourage you from WLS, especially when you would be looking wayyyyyyy better, like hello? Maybe he’s insecure, thinks once you loose it, you will be the one leaving him! Sent from my iPhone -

Can you use like gas x? Iv read a lot of people talking about using that for the gas. Ahh [emoji108], I was feeling almost there but still a bit lost. Its Been a journey so far, almost 9 months since I started WW, just want to get there already. Appreciate the info Kat. Thank you! Sent from my iPhone

The gas thing my main worry, I hate the feeling now and I can’t imagine feeling it even more after surgery 🤔 iv done the 6mo WW and just finished the seminar, was scheduled for the consultation on the 31st of this month, what I’m confused about it the Physch evaluation, will the surgeon set all that up or will I need to go back to my primary for that referral? I was sent to Western bariatrics, appt is with DR Chin.

That’s awesome! May I ask how long was your recovery time? I’m leaning more towards the gastric bypass. Sent from my iPhone

No it’s completely free, you do not have to register for it. Just show up on the date you choose, they will give you a paper to fill out which you can do ahead of time so they have your info and that’s all so once your done with your ww classes, your doctor will submit the referral and you should hear back within 5 days if approved or denied. Once your approved you can contact the surgeons office to schedule your consultation! And you wouldn’t have to wait to complete the seminar since you have already done it Sent from my iPhone -
Oh man, I hope it’s a false alarm, sending you good vibes! Hopefully IEHP gets their stuff together, affects everyone [emoji1448]♀️ Sent from my iPhone

They are lost sometimes, I remember them sending the coupons thorough UPS said they were delivered and waited for a week while UPS investigated because IEHP washed their hands clean only to find out they had the coupons the whole time! And had gotten them sent back to them by UPS 🤦🏽♀️ Sent from my iPhone -
That’s awesome! I just finished the seminar and am waiting for my consultation on the 31st, so anxious [emoji51] Sent from my iPhone

If you have IEHP, what surgeon did they send you to? I was sent to Dr Krahn and he require you to attend a WLS seminar before scheduling a consultation with him. You can find the dates on the website, western Bariatrics. Sent from my iPhone

You can still continue to go to your weight watcher classes even if you don’t have your coupons yet. I went to the WW in Ontario and they would just write IOU next to the days I needed to provide coupons for and told me to keep going or else I could be dropped or need to pay out of pocket for those lost days. Once you complete that THEN you get your approval letter, if you get Dr Krahn his office requires you to do a seminar before being able to schedule a consultation with him. I would highly suggest you go to the class now or before you finish ww because you might get stuck waiting longer. Sent from my iPhone
