I am Tellissa and I found this site by chance when I was googling to learn about my surgery. I started my journey in July of 2017, which was my first doctor's visit. With my insurance, I was required to complete 3 nutrition visits (1 a month) and 1 psych visit before they would approve me. I had became diabetic when the doctor found a 7lb  tumor growing off of my pancreas in 2003, which they had to remove 3/4 of my pancreas to ensure the tumor would not return. This started my journey of diabetes and eventually ended up on insulin and gained a ton of weight. So here I am today enjoying the new me and pray to God that I am successful!
BariatricPal gives me a since of belong. Knowing that everyone here is going through or has gone though the same journey as I have is amazing and exciting!
About me, I am a grandmother of one and a mother of two beautiful children! I work in the medical field as a Sr. Project Specialist and enjoy what I do. I am a wonderful person to be around and I truly love people!
