I helped a friend pick up a small dresser off the back of her truck last night and put it on a Dollie. Afterward, especially after I got home I was having a lot of pain around my main incision site. I'm so afraid I pulled something or maybe got a hernia at the incision site. The dresser didn't feel that heavy, but I still probably shouldn't have picked it up. It is still somewhat sore. Hasn't anyone else experienced something like this?

Make sure you are not drinking from a straw. That does help. -

Omeprazol/Sleeping on belly
Mytimenow17 replied to Drzthickness85's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My Dr. said to open that pill and put it in jello for the first couple of months, but don't chew those tiny pieces in the pill. He said it works better that way, and the pill is too big for stomach to process right after surgery. He also said to stay away from spicy food for a few months as well. Your body isn't ready to handle those kinds of foods yet. Good luck! -

Do you buy them at Starbucks? What phase do you have to be in to get them? -

September Sleevers- How are you feeling??
Mytimenow17 replied to Ash_Bri85's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 3 weeks post op and feeling great. Yesterday was the first day I had no pain at all in my main incision site. I'm able to sleep on my sides now(thankfully!) and feeling pretty good. I do have to remember to still be careful with moving or twisting too much because by the end of the day I will feel some pain/pull like in my lower stomach. I feel like I can almost eat anything in my phase1, moving to phase 2 today. I'm a little nervous for fear that I will start gaining weight. I do get a little full sometimes and do slow down with eating or drinking when this happens. But hoping for the best! People at work are starting to notice my weight loss. I've lost 27 pounds since 2 weeks before surgery. -
What foods don't agree with your stomach?
Mytimenow17 replied to Syn'd Hansen Golden's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm just starting phase 2 today. Sometimes I feel fullush just drinking my shakes, and it will take me almost all day to finish one. Some days I can snack on stuff and never seem to get full. It's weird! I even wonder sometimes if they actually did my surgery removing the portion of the stomach because I seem to have no difficulty. I've never been sick, or throwing up(thank goodness!) and it almost seems like I could eat anything, even though I haven't really tried yet. I've chewed a few things into complete mushiness, and had no trouble with it. I'm just hoping my body will let me know when enough is enough once I get to solids and can keep losing the weight. Best of luck to everyone!! -

Relief for knee pain

I'm still in phase one 3 weeks out, and am supposed to be able to go to mush soft foods next week and I cannot wait!! I'm dying for something different! I have actually strained some chicken noodle soups and keep a couple of the noodles in there and chew them til there's nothing left, and it taste so good!! I've also chewed on a couple of saltine crackers, as they turn to mush real easy too. I've just been so hungry and getting tired of eating the same ole stuff. I've been able to handle everything really well. If I start to feel full, mostly from my shakes I stop for awhile.

Mytimenow17 replied to mzsantiago88's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My fear is that I'd be one of those few that would gain the weight back and then everyone would be saying, "See, I told you so, should have never done the surgery!" Not a soul knows on my end. They would have no idea how difficult it is, and what we go through. It DEFINITELY is NOT the easy way out!! -
Getting hungry!
Mytimenow17 replied to Mytimenow17's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's exactly right! Just because we might not be hungry, we still have to watch what we eat or we will gain weight. That's why they say we have to eat healthy. The surgery just helps us to eat smaller portions. I have heard of people that eat pass feeling full all the time and stretched their stomach out. Those are the ones I would expect gain the weight back. -
Getting hungry!
Mytimenow17 replied to Mytimenow17's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was told just the opposite, that the ghrelin hormone was only removed when having the sleeve surgery, and not from the gastric bypass. -
Can you have strained soup's in phase 1?

Getting hungry!
Mytimenow17 replied to Mytimenow17's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Protein shakes do help some, but I'm really feeling hungry. I even took tiny bites of a saltine cracker and sucked on it until it turned to mush, and it just felt good to have something different in my mouth. I'm still hungry though! -
I'm 4 days post op and sitting here crying as I write this. I'm doing this all alone, no one knows I've done this, not even my immediate family. They all live out of town or in different states. All they know is that I had the hiatal hernia repair. I have struggled with my weight since I was a kid. I had thought about doing this surgery for years, but didn't want the negative feedback from people (including family) who don't understand, plus I was kind of scared to do it. But I finally decided to do it and now have fears that something will go wrong. I was also starting to have medical issues and lots of knee pain making it very difficult to get around, which was my final decision to do this. I live alone with my small dog. I don't feel good today, have trouble getting my shakes down without them going right through me. I just want this whole process to run smoothly and feel good again. Anyone in the same boat I am? Thanks!

Pain around incision
Mytimenow17 replied to Mytimenow17's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks, I'm not quite 2 weeks post op. I'm thinking I've just done too much over this last week being back at work. Pulling, turning, twisting, etc. it's not unbearable pain, just a little stinging pain. -
I am 2 weeks out post op and still have like a burning type pain around my incision . Is this normal?
