    June RNY buddies?

I didn’t even think about scar therapy. Have to look into it. Right now all of my incisions (except for the one under my breasts and the one in my belly button) are super scabby. I’m so afraid of doing anything that might mess up their healing. And yes to happy healings for all of us! And what is it about the under breasts incisions healing so fast?! lol

    June RNY buddies?

I have 2 on the left side of my tummy that are healing okay, one under my breasts that is healing the best, and another right in the center of my tummy that looks awful! My incisions from my ports are healing okay as well. The belly button one is giving me problems because I have a big belly and the belly button is kind of deep. I hope to have that complaint next summer, lol

    June RNY buddies?

I will probably call and ask. I need to ask about my incision in my belly button as well. That area doesn’t stay dry in this heat so it isn’t really healing and it has some pain

    June RNY buddies?

Congrats to you! I feel okay but I’m honestly starting to feel like I had surgery for no reason. Still not losing 19 days post op. I lost the 10 lbs of water but I am only 5 lbs down from my actual preop weight so I’m just frustrated. I have lost more 7 months preop than I have post op. So I’m just trying to stay encouraged. Again, I feel okay but my measurements are awful and the scale isn’t budging and I’m ready to just rip my hair out. Glad everyone else is doing well and not going through whatever my body is doing
  6. I hear that! Make sure they are reviewing your paperwork!
  7. I had my surgery (bypass) a day after yours. I’m sure that doesn’t count but I’m doing pretty good 😊 How are you?
  8. Can’t wait to hear back about your date
  9. I’m so sorry to hear that. Praying you and your family’s strength
  10. Thank you! And I’m definitely trying not to get discouraged. Just continuing to do everything I’m supposed to do and hoping for the best
  11. Glad you are home and feeling better. I am so squeamish about needles but I did 7 days worth of Lovenox injections (one shot every morning). The time will pass kind of quick with it even though it’s annoying. And I gained 10 lbs of water weight post op. It took me 8 days to get rid of it. It will come off with time and probably a good amount of walking. Wishing you all of the best and a speedy recovery!
  12. 17 days post op and the purée stage is going well. Still doing protein shakes and still getting in as much water as I can (usually around 46 oz) but I’m thinking I’ve hit a stall very early in the game. I haven’t gained or lost anything, just been stuck at 271 for about 5 days now. I welcome it if it means I get my stall out of the way and then start dropping weight, lol. The walking is definitely making me feel a lot better. The soreness in my stomach isn’t really bad anymore. The incision in my belly button is giving me a hard time healing though. Well, that’s my update, sorry it’s all over the place

    Hey guys I’m new here

I hope the same for you! I feel like they give you a wait time for an approval just in case it takes a little longer to review. I was told that it would take up to 2 weeks to get approved but I got the call less than a week later from my surgeon and got the official letter in the mail the following week. Also know that there is no harm in calling your insurance company to see what is going on. People usually check after around a week

A kidney stone! Wow! And I still have the soreness on the left side of my stomach too. I more over feel it if I move too quickly. Hope you feel even better soon and that you enjoy your tuna Sunday 😉

Well 35 from when I first started my journey. Post op (including the 10 lbs I gained) I’ve lost about 14 lbs. I still look very swollen though. Hopefully the walks will help. I’m just starting incorporate purées this week. My diet was just 60g of protein (2 shakes a day) and 30-40 oz of water. Sometimes I’d have a little broth to cleanse my palette of the sweetness of the shakes. As of yesterday I have incorporated a little bit of tuna (very tiny serving sizes) twice a day. And cool that we both have August follow ups. How is everything going on your end?

I did measurements and got sad because they were bigger measurements than what I took when I was in the 300s. I don’t know what is going on with my body. My clothes are a little looser but I’m not really seeing changes. I go back to my surgeon’s office early August so I’ll try to give my body time to adjust
  17. Glad it was just a fluke! I wear my stomach binder less now. Can’t believe I’m 2 weeks post op already! Anyway, I’m glad you didn’t have to revert back to liquids. Be careful not to pull anything else. Oh and being a bypass patient there are plenty of foods I will have to give up based on sugar content alone, lol. I’m okay with it though, I’ve made peace

As much as I used to obsessively measure myself, I not only forgot to do preop measurements but I haven’t measured myself at all! I probably really need to. Thanks for the reminder to do so!
  19. Congrats and as soon as @Ylime sees it she will add you 😊
  20. I FINALLY got to take advantage of a not so hot day and take a proper walk and not just the laps I take around my house all day. Felt great! I’m sure this is what I need to get this weight to fall off more

    Had surgery today

Congrats! Wishing you a speedy recovery!

Glad you’re losing! I’m 2 weeks post op and not really losing at all. I got rid of all of the 10lbs water/gas weight I gained post op but have only truly lost 3lbs so far. Trying not to be discouraged by the scale not budging 😩🤦🏽‍♀️
  23. With all of the changes we endure with this surgery it wouldn’t shock me if our bodies did stop liking certain things. My aunt couldn’t handle pasta or tomato sauces after her bypass many years ago. Here is hoping it was just a fluke for you. And chewing is awesome 😂😂😂
  24. Are you by any chance lactose intolerant? Or maybe your new pouch doesn’t like tomato sauce. I don’t know. But I can relate to the passing gas making you feel better, lol. My surgeon played me to start purees today rather than Saturday. Had a small helping of tuna. Felt amazing to chew again, lol
