  1. I am so sorry! The liquid stage in general is just so tiring! I think you will feel much better when you get to the purée stage. Hang in there!
  2. You’re not allowed to drive? I don’t drive but they told me it was fine as long as I wasn’t on my liquid narcotic pain killers which I only took the first day I came home. And I’m guilty of stepping on the scale every single day 🤦🏽‍♀️
  3. Lucky you about the shots. I had to take them because of the birth control I’m on. It’s been ruining my life for the past couple of months so I’m having it removed from my arm on Monday. And definitely don’t force the liquids. Drinking too much makes you feel like a brick just hit your pouch. And congrats on the 10 lbs!
  4. I only had to do them a week but my bestie who is a CNA was busy so I did them myself! Longest most frustrating week of my life! Was so glad that he ended them after a week instead of the original 10 days he told me I had to do it
  5. You take lovenox in your thighs? I had to inject it into my tummy. It was awful! Glad you are doing great!
  6. I like my shakes better with the water than I did with the milk, lol
  7. I was oddly able to get in about 40 oz of water a day, 60 oz of liquids including my protein shakes. I get in about 46-50 oz of water a day now. Fluids are easier for me. Food is another story, lol
  8. Well I can’t comment on the pee. Mine didn’t smell weird (maybe I drank enough water? I don’t know) but I can comment on the BM. I had my first one 2 or 3 days after coming home. Next week or so it stalled, I took a dose of milk of magnesia and have been pretty regular since, lol. Good luck!
  9. Sending good vibes your way! I’m sure you will get out of your funk. Best wishes for a smooth revision and a speedy recovery
  10. Yesterday made me officially 4 weeks post op! I am down to 266 now (I’ll take it). I feel great! I love my new found stamina, I LOVE walking now, I don’t get winded, tired, or achy! Also, my knees no longer hurt or sound like broken glass. My scale may not be moving like I want it to but everything else has me feeling pretty amazing about my decision to have roux-en-y/bypass
  11. Being able to eat meat and be able to chew at all was the happiest day of my post op life 😂😂😂 Congrats on all of your progress!!
  12. Congrats! That’s amazing! And your surgery is super close!
  13. The Bariatric keys for success 😂😂😂
  14. The leg curling adds extra support, lol. I have a hard time sleeping on my back. And I’m sorry about the gas pain. With gas x, walking, and time, it eventually gets better. I mean you’ll still be kind of gassy but it doesn’t get trapped in painful places after a while

    Non Scale Victories

My scale numbers aren’t great but my NSV is pretty much all of the stamina I have now. I can take longer walks without being winded or tired. I no longer have knee or ankle pains. I just overall feel great
  16. I’m also a side sleeper. The only way to be comfortable sleeping in the beginning was to prop a small pillow under my tummy while I side slept. 4 weeks post op I sleep comfortably on my side again without the pillow
  17. They had gas x on hand at the hospital when I had mine done 4 weeks ago. But I suggest buying some gas x when you get home. It and walking does help with the gas relief. Your tummy will be swollen for a few days
  18. I’m sorry you are in pain? Are they administering your pain meds and also giving you gas x? I had one nurse let me suffer an entire day, she kept giving me gas x but no pain meds and I felt like I was going to explode! Make sure they are giving you what you need! Wishing you a speedy recovery!
  19. BariatricPal is just letting me back in but I did reach out to you on instagram. I am so sorry for your loss. My deepest condolences to you and your family

How long was you in the hospital after gastric bypass?

I think it depends on where you are. Here in Connecticut you are required to stay at least 2 days for bypass. I had my bypass after 4:30pm 6/28/18 and was discharged from the hospital 10:30am 6/30/18
