  1. I couldn’t get enough protein in eating the small portions throughout the day like my surgeon’s office wanted so I had to go back to drinking 2 protein shakes a day. My blood work showed that my protein was low around the time where I was trying to eat my protein. I was eating chicken breasts, ground chicken, ground turkey, shockingly my tummy is fine with lean ground beef. Also I would use low fat or fat free cheeses. Still wasn’t meeting my protein needs though. I’m 10 weeks out and eating more than once a day is still challenging for me. Good luck! I hope you can do better than me in that department
  2. Prayers for Ellie! Hope she feels better soon!
  3. I know I packed clothes and didn’t get to use them until discharge. They kept me in a hospital gown. And you will not be worried about what you look like during that time. You’re going to do great! I am so happy for you! Best wishes for a speedy recovery!!!
  4. Oh wow, hope you get on the mend soon!
  5. I don’t know! We need @frustr8 to weigh in on this since it’s her big day!!! I’m so excited for her!
  6. I’m losing pretty slowly too. I notice I lose a little better on days where I’ve had an hour of movement. The main thing people usually say is that building muscle helps. I need to start working on building some. Good luck!
  7. Congrats! You’ve got this! You’ll be on the post op side before you know it 😉
  8. I think the reality just sunk in and freaked you out a little. Perfectly normal 😉

    June RNY buddies?

Thank you, thank you. You're doing FABULOUS! All we can do is keep trucking along. 55 lbs. down is so great for 9 weeks. Congrats to you too! Love that you're walking a lot. I did that every day until I hit 205 lbs. Walking works. Keep up the amazing work. You’re welcome and thank you! And I wish I had dropped that in 9 weeks! I think they count it from the start of your journey. I honestly love walking. Makes me feel so good! Hoping to sign up to a gym some time soon!

    June RNY buddies?

Congrats! I’m so jealous! Nowhere near one-derland but working on it. I feel great and walk A LOT! I’ll be 9 weeks post op this Thursday! Congrats again and best wishes moving forward 😊
  11. It’s probably anxiety and excitement which can obviously be overwhelming. You’ve got this! Your new life begins soon. Sending prayers and positive vibes. See you on the post op side 😉
  12. Same! I had no fear! The staff was kind of taken aback because I was all smiles and joking with them. I also didn’t have anyone at the hospital with me. I was alone my whole 2 day stay, no visitors. I’m sure the OP is fine now

    ONEderland...blessed!

I am so happy for you! Congrats! You look great!
  14. Oh wow! So this happened to you too? Oh dear... not cool , sorry I had to deal with that. Are you happy with your progress since? My progress is slower than I expected but I am happy with it. Before the weight even started coming off, I felt better. I was able to walk without aching or feeling tired. I felt lighter. Now 8 weeks (9 weeks this Thursday) the weight is coming off pretty good. I stick to my protein and take walks and it honestly does wonders. I’ve also started having more broccoli or spinach with my meats (I’m already back on a full diet). Trust the process. I feel your pain, I was discouraged too but I promise it does come off. Keep fighting the good fight!
  15. Everyone is different. You can’t compare journeys. It took me 2 whole weeks to get rid of the 10lbs of fluids I gained at the hospital. Just keep doing what you’re supposed to be doing. It will come off
  16. You’re only 4 days out. You’re still full of the fluids you have been on at the hospital. Give it time, it will come off

    15 month progress.

    Stunning!!! Congrats!
  18. I take them whole which is shocking to people. I’ve never really felt too much restriction from drinking water so I can drink enough water for it to go down
  19. I've had the Mirena IUD for 11 years, but removing is definitely not an option. I am going to increase my Water from 70 to as much as possible. Ash said not to stress it's normal so I am going to relax and see what happens. Oh no! I wouldn’t tell you to ditch it. You’ve been on it for 11 years with no side effects so I’m sure it’s fine. Mine was just torture and gave me further issues upon removal. My body doesn’t like hormones and luckily for me I’m not dating so being without it isn’t an issue. Hope you see results soon! Wishing you the best! Also, consider taking measurements, sometimes the scale will get you down
  20. Oh okay, got it! Do you use already made protein or self mixing? Having an on the go jug of protein really does help. I think you’re going to be fine. We all get the protein struggle 😉 Good luck!
  21. I tried chewable and even though I liked them pre-op they tasted like vomit post op. So then I got the drinkable vitamins because I liked them pre-op but again, post op they tasted like vomit. I finally ended up on the procare site and settled on the one a day capsule. I’m guessing they work okay, my blood work so far says I’m fine but I will see what my latest blood work reveals at my September 4th appointment which is my 3rd post op appointment. Good luck with the vitamins
