  1. See you on the post op side friend! Praying for your speedy recovery!
  2. Well I’m guessing you had your first run in with dumping 😩. And I want so badly to chew, I’m going to be happy when I can have “puréed” stuff like tuna. I managed not to eat noodles or veggies in my chicken soup today (which is hard because the veggies are pretty much my favorite part of the soup). We can do this, just a little while longer. Wishing you well
  3. I completely understand and to think I have another week (after this week) if this. I want to chew food so badly 😩😩😩
  4. You’re very welcome! I couldn’t get a pic of the full log because I have my fan on and the paper just wanted to fly away but this is an example of the fluid log. And oddly yes, i can get down 60ccs of water in a 15 minute sitting. Weird honestly, must be my love of water, lol
  5. You’re very welcome and hoping so too, hospitals are no fun 🙁
  6. You’re welcome and absolutely give them a call! Better safe than sorry! I’m having a hard time writing my liquids down. They gave me a sheet to write down how many ccs of liquid I take in throughout the day but I get too distracted to keep up with it. It may be something that you can use to see if you are maybe taking in more liquids than you think. I even count my popsicles as liquids
  7. My ice pack and gas x have been a God send. Hopefully this stomach binder works out too.
  8. I truly hope your situation improves, I’m so sorry that you are going through this. Here’s to a speedy recovery!
  9. If you have bruising or your incision feels feverish to the touch you may want to get it checked out. I’d call the surgeon’s office if I were you to ask about it. Best wishes! And I feel your pain with the hunched soreness walk
  10. I sure hope so because aside from that, I feel pretty good. I mean if I turn too quickly I may feel soreness and go “oh yeah, major surgery” but other than that, I feel fine
  11. I am 3 (almost 4 in a couple of hours) days post op and oh brother does my tummy feel out of sorts. Not in the I’m super gassy and bloated type of way but in a “I’m walking like I’m 90 because my tummy is so heavy it feels like it wants to fall off” sort of way. I broke down and ordered a stomach binder for support. I managed the pain pretty well today. Took gas x about every 6 hours and used my ice pack if I was feeling too sore. No pain meds today. I definitely think I’m getting in enough water but my protein intake could use some work. How is everyone else doing so far?
  12. I got home yesterday! I’m sore but doing well. Sipping like crazy. Sugar free popsicles (2 small bites at a time across 30 minutes) in this heat. Thank you for asking 😊
  13. You’ve got this girl! See you on the post op side! 😉
  14. Congrats on your date! Nerves are normal but remember why you wanted to do this. And if you still feel nerves the day of, ask them for something relax you. Best wishes and see you on the post op side 😉
  15. The gas is the absolute worst! I’ve been dealing with it better since getting home today though! Best wishes and welcome to the summer surgery 2018 family!
  16. Thank you! I’m doing better today! Yesterday was rough but I’m back on track!
  17. I don’t know what her deal was but I was glad when she was no longer my nurse, she didn’t take my pain seriously
  18. I am home! And here is my account of how things went. First night, I felt pretty good. Day 2 was ROUGH. I was in so much pain! The nurses didn’t walk me around at all. The main nurse wouldn’t give me any pain meds. I felt awful, like my belly felt like I was going to explode and I asked myself why I had done this. I kept reminding myself why but I was miserable. Then there was a shift in nurses and the new nurse seen that the previous nurse had been denying me my required every 3 hour pain meds! So she made sure that I got them and made sure the nurse after her administered them to me as well. Everything looked good so I came home today. I’m thankful for my nurses who did listen and try to help me. Hope everyone else had a better experience than I did
  19. Hey everyone! My surgery went well but it was so late when I was finally transferred to my room that I was too tired to check in. I had some nausea but I was given injections to stop that. No hernia repairs. Had a little suffering to do about peeing. Had to be so bad but my bladder was still asleep, didn’t get to relieve it until about 3am. I’m doing well though. Haven’t got to do too much walking yet. Will keep you posted
  20. I had it for lab work for my pcp and it came back negative but I don’t know it mattered or not when the lab work was I submitted to my surgeon
  21. I’m so sorry! Hope you’re calmer on your new date
  22. Fellow June 28thers, wishing you all a speedy recovery, see you on the other side! 😉
