Did doctor office call to check on you?
ncoll replied to cindyRH's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The nurse called a few days after I went home, then again 3 weeks later. Dietician called too. Nancy C -
Having 2nd thoughts now
ncoll replied to chucklecheeks's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had thought about which surgery to have also. My doctor suggested bypass due to better results and since I have heard. He said my heartburn may get worse with the sleeve. I have a father in law that had bypass several years ago and he still has problems with vomiting, diarrhea. I chose the sleeve and haven't had single problem. I am so glad I did this. 53 lbs down since July. Nancy C -
2+years post op Chronic Constipation
ncoll replied to tfarr's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I too have had constipation issues. Was actually impacted a week after surgery. I am 2 months out now and found that Smooth Move tea got me going the next day when I hadn't had a BM in 4 days. Boy did I get cleaned out. Now I have been making a green protein smoothie every morning for breakfast and I take Colace twice daily. That seems to keep me "going". When did you get rid of clothes?
ncoll replied to Sassy Sleeve's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 2 months out and have already bagged 3 bags of clothes and taken to Goodwill. It is fun to see how many clothes don't fit. I've lost 53 lbs so far and 25 inches overall. I'm in xl now and have some larges waiting in the wings. Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app -

Im SOO HUNGRY! How are you making it through?
ncoll replied to hillnicole34's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It will definitely be worth it. I promise you won't be hungry after the surgery for a few months. I am 2 months out now and I am never hungry. Yes, the pre o.o diet was difficult but the results are amazing. I hit onederland yesterday and never will see 200 or more again! Keep up the good work. It will be over soon and your new life will begin. Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app -
What is off limits after post-op diet
ncoll replied to Bary's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I am 2 months out and have found that food or beer, which was a big part of my life, do not interest me so far. I do plan on drinking a glass of wine in a few months but it won't be daily for sure. In general, food makes me full quickly so I don't get the same pleasure from it. I hope that comes back. I do find myself saying "I don't eat that" alot. I have found that all the things that made me fat in the first place have been easy to give up. I don't plan on them returning to my life. I have lost 50 lbs since pre-op diet and never want it back so I will do what it takes, even though chips and dip and beer won't be with me. Good luck to all. What are your water goals? And have you achieved it?
ncoll replied to dreamingsmall's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
At 6 weeks out my goal is 64 oz or more. My biggest help is to get in as much as possible in the morning. I now drink 48 oz before work, a green smoothie with protein powder for breakfast, 24 oz during the day, and another 24 oz at night and a protein shake if I haven't gotten 70 70gm of protein. We made it out OK. No damage at my house. Lost power at 10pm last night. Got up this morning to walk dogs (poor things had been coiled up all night) started generator, started taking down shitters. Guess what I forgot? WATER!! Sitting down resting and drinking now. Lightheaded city. Don't forget your water during this storm!!! Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app -

ncoll replied to Drea8989's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks, I am in FL east coast. We are expecting CAT1 winds maybe. The whole state will be affected in some way, west coast the most. We are all shuttered up and.prepared. Thanks for thinking of us. My family has all their hurricane snacks and I have none. I'm 1 month out and can't have much still. Good thing I'm not hungry! Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app -

How much can you eat?
ncoll replied to DropWt4Life's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 4 weeks out and can only eat 3 oz of food at a sitting. I have 3 meals of this and 2 snacks of protein shakes to make sure I get my protein. Still on soft foods until the 17th. -
Exercise question (spin, walk, barre)
ncoll replied to dreamynow's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I can walk but I can't do tredclimber for more than 5 min now. 4 weeks out. Doctor told me for 6 weeks concentrate on nutrition as we are not taking in enough calories to sustain harder workouts. I agree. I am a Physical Therapist (yes, really. I know, not a good role model, but I'm getting there!) Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app -
I too experienced the pain. It lasted a week. Now I get smaller versions of it if I eat too much. I really listen to my sleeve now. I thought if it was going to continue like that then this was the biggest mistake I could make. So glad it stopped! Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app

How to simply track my eating and drinking? Apps seem too complicated.
ncoll replied to GotProlactinoma's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Spark People has a good app. It lists thousands of foods to quickly log, also logs exercise and water and gives you a macros chart to see if you stayed in your guidelines. I use it religiously. Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app -

ncoll replied to dreamingsmall's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
How far out as you? I am 4 weeks. My schedule is: 16 oz after waking (5:30), vitamins with another 16 oz. Protein shake for breakfast. Drink another 24 oz during the day at work. Stop drimking at 11:30, eat lunch. Back at home I stop drinking while I make dinner and eat. Then another 16 oz and Protein shake before bed. This seems to work for me. Hope it helps. I'm 4 weeks out. Constipation was my biggest problem. I was impacted 3 days after surgery. Laxative suppositories loosen it up. Doctor said to take Miramax daily. I now just take 2 stool softeners daily and I'm finally having "normal" BMs. Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app

The first week I also had pain with drinking water. I drank room temp water and sipped very slowly. I was very worried but other posts let me know it would pass. It did. I'm almost 4 weeks out and the pain stopped after a week and I can drink ice water and take a normal swallow. It keeps getting easier. The pain stopped after a week or so. Good luck! I was worried about the pain too. Anything I ate or drank felt like a knife in my chest. It went away in a week. Now I only have pain if I eat too much.

When did you get rid of clothes?
ncoll replied to Sassy Sleeve's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am almost a month out and I keep a bag in my closet so when I try to wear something and it's just too big, I drop it in the bag! -
I wish I could guzzle too. I am 3 weeks out and just now taking a normal swallow. The first week was painful to get anything down but that just lasted a week. Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app
