  1. I'm sure your nutrionist already asked you this, but I'll just ask too. Are you taking your monthly B12 shots?

Why is this so hard for me

Thinking of you today. I wish I had a good answer for you. It sounds like you have a great diet. Does your post mean you're up 100 pounds? It said you were down to 170, now up 100. I'm thinking you were talking about your meds? please reach out to us when you're in need of cyber hugs 🤗

    1 year post-op gastric bypass

2 years 8 months out. Doing good. Reached goal last August. I still have in the back of my mind the twenty pound weight gain they say will / can happen at the two or three year mark.. I weigh weekly so I can stay on top of that situation..
  4. Oh gosh! You look amazing! Well done!

How do you deal? It's so hard..

I'm sorry you're going through this. What my husband eats means nothing to me. I do my own thing. He can eat what I fix, which he does, anything extra, I don't really care.

Help! Craving Pancakes 4 weeks out!!

Please don't do regular pancakes.. you may be sorry. I'm 2 + years out and still can't do them. Everyone is different though.
  10. You probably won't be able to eat a big salad, however once you put it together, it will probably end up big. 🙂I know mine was. It took me a long time to figure out how much food to put on my plate. I am still learning. My eyes always seem to be bigger than my stomach. Good luck with your journey.

    The wait!

Stay positive. I understand how you feel though. It was 9 months from start to my surgery day. I'm not complaining, but I could have had a baby in that time! 😜. Just kidding, I'm way to old for that. LOL!
  12. Oh wow! Congratulations!

    Work.....How long were you out?

If you can, I would take 4 to 5 weeks off. I too work in the dental field. I know how fatiguing patient care can be. Yes, you are sitting, but we use our core muscles a lot. However, you may be a lot tougher than I am. Good luck with your upcoming surgery.

    How you decided?

Hello, i had my surgery at KPNW Sunnyside. The decision was made for us. They only do one type of procedure. Gastric bypass RNY. The team there said it's the " Golden Standard". That probably didn't help you much. Good luck with whatever you choose.
  15. That is a great amount! Keep up the good work!
  16. I'm not a doctor so this is just my experience. When this happened to me, it was because I was taking BP meds. Since I had lost quite a bit of weight, I no longer needed these BP meds. They weaned me off of the BP meds, and problem was solved. Good luck to you. I hope you get answers quickly and start feeling better.
  17. Hello, I was given my first B12 shot at hospital and this was prescribed monthly. I was also prescribed pain meds. That was it for me.
  18. I got rid of all my old clothes. I do not plan on going back. I can wear a size 4 now. However, I will not expect to stay that size. So I will keep the siz 8 to 10. I lost enough in case I gain the 20 pound average at year three. I am 26 months out.

    Gastric Bypass for Senior Citizen

If you are healthy, you're not to old. I was 58, it was the best decision I have ever made. There are many members who were older than I that did this surgery. Check the threads, you will find many people who made the decision to have the surgery after age 60.
  20. I am 26 months out. Yes, i lost weight the second year as well. It took me 22 months to get to goal. I weighed 291.8 one week after surgery. 183.6 at one year after surgery. From Oct 2018 to August 2019 ( goal weight) I weighed 149.2 . So I lost 34 pounds the second year.

Eating a tiny sandwhich, yay or nay?

I didn't try bread for over a year out from surgery. I did try toast about 6 months out. It was meh! I guess if you don't eat it for a while, you don't really miss it. I am two years two months out from surgery and I still struggle with eating bread, toast I can do, however bread isn't really a thing for me any longer. Good luck with your small sandwich. Just small bites and chew the heck out of it.
  22. Starting BMI 49.9 goal weight BMI 20.8 normal ,BMI it is possible!
