    Help! Severe constipation

Glycerine suppository is the way to go (in my humble opinion),

    My man said I cheated

Yeah, he's right. You cheated. You cheated early death ... the extremely high likelihood of a significantly earlier mortality by shrinking yourself and the co-morbidity risks that come with obesity. You can also exercise another choice ... calculate if he's "on the same page" as you in other aspects of life and relationships. If his commitment to you is less than it should be, excise him sooner rather than later.

    home sleep test

This is the very reason it's better to do such tests at the sleep lab.
  4. I actually made three separate posts and you've chosen to be aggrieved by one.
  5. You're comparing frozen whole fruits or fruit pieces to the stuff put through a machine that 'creams' and smooths it to a different consistency. I agree that frozen WHOLE fruits or fruit pieces still retain all or nearly all their fibre. (And I agree that a NUMBER of fruits but NOT ALL are better than regular full-cream ice-cream ... calorie-wise and nutrition wise.)
  6. Then you should read more or consult a dietitian. It's all clear advice given by them and medical people. (Exactly why they tell you NOT to give fruit juice to children ... the missing fibre plus the acid loaded dental attacks.)
  7. The best thing about fresh fruit is eating the fibre. (FIBER in the USA) To make frozen fruit alters the eating properties significantly. It's a 'once in a while' choice. But at least it's not on the very bad choice scale like juicing fruit and throwing away the pulp.

Eating crispy bread at day 7

Hear, hear to that. I have a one-page overview and a folder of support documents/reading. The answers to 99% of post gastric sleeve are there. Use yours, @mabubbles
  9. Best thing is to take this trigger food off your repertoire. It's wise to NOT chase sugary or sweet foods ... even those artificially sweetened ones. Stimulating a desire for sugar/sweet is a huge risk.
  10. Your pics brought about parallel memories. I was (seven months back) a male version of your general shape and size. It's a journey ahead that you will eventually appreciate as you get close to 'normal'.

    I can dream, can't I?

:-) But, seriously, it's crap sugar treats like this you DO NOT NEED. Just pass it by.
  12. I'll be blunt. Grow up and do the right thing. Why **CK UP a process that has helped you so much? Write your food-diary entries as soon as you eat. Stay under your quotas as often as possible. The waste of time and money if you bring back old bad eating habits should scare the 5h1t out of you!

    Week 3

Put whatever high protein foods you like into a good blender with a little water, warm or cold ... as appropriate. Use a small soup spoon or teaspoon AND EAT MINDFULLY/THOUGHTFULLY.

    Kicking the TV habit?

I still eat (about half the time) ... usually in front of the TV 24 hour news station. I must aim to wind this back ... as I am aware that it's often unthinking (almost unconscious) eating.
  15. Stunning progress ... well done!

About to hit the 2 year mark and no one still knows

In my case, just a select few. Such surgery here (in Australia) is still widely regarded as some form of cheating ... AND I can well do without the 5h1t of pointless debates/arguments with opinionated ignoramuses who have not lived my last quarter of a century of yo-yo dieting and weight-loss fails. My wife knows. My siblings know. My daughter and son-in-law know. In fact, my son-in-law is my inspiration and catalyst for gastric sleeving. He was done in 2015 ... a man of 185cm (6feet, 2inches) who "fell" from 208kg to 99kg after his own gastric-sleeve. (460 pounds to 219 pounds). Yes ... I have had the opportunity to eat better SMALLER quantities and make purposeful progress. I was in a union job that required a lot of "socialising" ... I averaged about 35 alcoholic drinks per week in summer and about 26-28 per week in winter for 18 years. I now confine myself to one beer and three wines per week. Even today, I went for my usual St Patrick's day lunch and ordered a half-pint of Guinness (as opposed to nearly thirty years of one or two pints with lunch). I made it just past half-way down my half-pint before I just put the glass down and walked away ... I had no room after my grilled fish piece and salad to fit any more Guinness.
  18. Ditto ... my gastric sleeving was 12th Oct ... so pleased I made this choice. Life-changing. I'm still obese but shrinking well ... although it will get harder from this point. My general medications have gone from 50mg daily to 10mg. My hypertension (BP) meds are down from 40mg (two 20mg doses) to 2.5mg (one small half-dose) with the prospect of being on nil blood pressure meds by Easter (or not long after)! This last eight months (17th July to 17th March) has seen me lose nearly 42kg (93 pounds). My BMI is down from 50+ to low 40s. I exercise 3.5 to 4.5 hours per day, on at least 28 days per month (since Nov 17th). My body fat is down from 47.5% to 35.3% thanks to exercise and high protein diet. I think so. I wish it were better/faster but I can't be more proud of where I've come from and where I've got to. I may well have cheated an early death with surgical intervention and some personal hard work. Thanks go to my GP for supporting my decision and encouraging me. He and my wife have backed my every decision for three years.

    Feeling really tired

Yes, it can be just like that. I live on 960 calories to 1420 calories per day (average 1265). I also swim EVERY DAY ... never less than 105 minutes but usually 3.5 to 4.25 hours. Because I am losing weight, I have a massive calorie deficit. (And because I have a massive calorie deficit, I lose a lot of weight.) In reality, I do not eat enough energy/calories to fuel my exercise so I am incredibly tired after my morning swim. I normally nap 90-150 minutes in the middle of the day on four to six days per week. And I sleep a lot better at night than I used to before surgery. I am exhausted beyond belief some days but I would not change it as I like losing the weight.

How so? What is your erudite articulation on the matter? Some illuminating justifications for your view, if you please!

About to hit the 2 year mark and no one still knows

Yes ... but only about four 330mL bottles (at home) since surgery five months ago. And, when out socialising, I think the total is three 425mL schooners and three 285mL mid-size "middies". A first beer of the day used to take me three to ten minutes to consume. These days, it's more likely 70 to 90 minutes about 20 minutes after I eat. Yes ... have some pre-thought out remarks in your repertoire before you're put on the spot. e.g. 1 = "I'm a tad woozy after some suspect chicken yesterday. I'm just taking it slowly today/tonight." e.g. 2 = "After last night's nausea, I'm just taking food more slowly today. I don't want to go too hard and upset my digestion." e.g. 3 = "Something's had me squeezing out gas both ends so I'm aiming to eat just a little today/tonight." e.g. 4 = "The food looks delightful, Marlene, but I had a bit of irritable bowel yesterday. I think I was served some MSG." etc, etc ...
