I went with my daughter, at her invitation, to see the VM near her college campus. Not knowing what to expect, I found it awesome, amazing, and it pulled at my heart and brought tears to my eyes. The abuses so many women face is sad and it was enpowering to watch the VM with my daughter, we just have that kind of relationship.

ROFLMAO!!! Thanks Tired Old Man for a great chuckle today!

How awesome NewSho - I bet you'll be acting for more than fun with your new figure! Congrats - what a fantastic NSV! for you

I agree with Jack! If you don't want to walk out in public - then get a treadmill or other workout equipment and do it for YOU. Yes others attitudes usually do stink and people are mean and do say things behind an overweight person's back (I know all about that) but YOU decide whether it will effect you negatively or positively. Mostly - HUGS to you...you need extra hugs right now. Hang in there and fight for yourself!

I don't know about the 'parenting' part on Sharon's end of things - but I can't imagine having Ozzie for a parent and NOT seeing what drug use does to a person!

The "NEVER HUNGRY" thread - post here if that's you
MoOrLess replied to Wheetsin's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was intrigued by the topic - specifically because I do NOT have a band - and I have experienced the same thing - after I lost 12 pounds I quit being hungry....I can go 6-8 hours without eating and not think about it - so I wonder - is it the band or is it the smaller stomach from it shrinking with less food in there to stretch it out? Interesting...... -
I was diagnosed with type II diabetes 2 years ago....our body is doing things on the inside (regardless of our weight) that we don't know about - your body 'may' have been harboring insulin issues for years and it is just showing up now...good to get it checked out --- you could even have been at goal weight and have it show up - just never know - is it in your family?

Thanks folks for the warm and expected welcome! I'll stop in now and then - fairly busy back at college these days - but they let us breathe now and then lol - have a great day! P.S. - forgive me when I forget and talk about U.S. holidays LOL and don't know Canadian holidays

Hi green - and anyone else who cares lol --- to answer your questions - I'll have to ask my Mom if she remembers where all my dad's dad is from - I know for sure Alberta - his sister lived there (I think all of her life) but I don't think any of his family is living any longer....I'm in Illinois - outside of Chicago....I'll have to ask my Mom if she remembers why my grandpa moved here - I was young and newly married with a baby when he passed away - I sure wish I had retained/remembered more - in his last years he talked A LOT about his childhood memories, life in Canada, etc....it was my favorite time - listening to him talk about his life, and his favorite saying was "believe you me" - he was the only one in our family who ever said it - then I went to college and a girl said it (she was from Canada too) lol - sorry if this is too much info - it's nice to think about all of this OT - I think all of the drama comes from just too many people in one place at one time - I honestly think that it could happen here too, if it grew too large to hold all the people - ya know....I'd just ignore it all - do ya think I can become Canadian by proxy? lol Everyone IS much nicer and saner (a word?) here - thanks!

Hi all - I figure since my grandfather is from Canada - and my grandparents on my mom's side were both born in Canada - I might check in and get a feel for what 'silence' and 'playing nice' means lol -- good to know people can get along somewhere in this world of ours - **waves**

most colleges have a buy-back time right at the end of each term (before or during final exams) and this is the best time to re-sell most of them as you get the most money back at that time, nothing compared to what you paid though so you might want to keep a few that are really useful....also if a course isn't being taught the next term hold onto the book and sell it the next buy-back when it will be used again, hope I didn't confuse you
