Funny --- I too gained after losing a bunch last week - and I can't even blame TOM for that -- I'm gutted (and love it) -- so go figure -- if someone took x-rays of my stomach they would ask where are the fish? I have a darn aquarium in there full of water!!! Hang in there!

but but.....how do I eat MORE calories and still lose weight? remember disabilities are a major factor for me -- walking 30 minutes a day at this point is the max I can do exercise-wise...... I do indeed know what you both mean though about metabolisms and starvation mode --- my sister did it to herself twice now - losing 100 lbs each time to gain it back -- THIS time she eats healthy and has a trainer and works out 6 days a week.... my family would definitely win with survival of the fittest metabolisms -- we win there -- but it is so hard to get the sucker going again....I WILL read the link P'Nut thanks!!! Dawg --- thanks for the humor you put in every situation - it helps! lol Edit: I read the starvation mode thread -- have 'read' or 'heard' most of the info on there before but was good to review --- I guess I AM doing something right -- I no longer count calories - I eat until I am no longer hungry (not eat until I'm full) and exercise -- I started losing weight immediately when I cut DOWN sugar and flour and quit bread completely - I don't miss bread nor do I miss the yucky way my body felt from eating too much flour or sugar. I'm content - eat plenty of protein at EVERY meal which makes me want very little else to eat -- great tips everyone! You are all awesome and I appreciate your banded support for this unbanded soul on a daily basis!!!

well I have to admit -- 1000 calories is the MAX amount of calories I can eat - WITH 30 minutes of exercise every day to even lose weight...... sigh.....my body's metabolism is apparently dead - and I never even got invited to the funeral :eek:

I'm in Chicagoland area and the show comes on at 2pm on channel 9 -- I have watched it - all different times and channels since it started - too!!! Sadly, I missed the one where Cassie met her son - did they show it? probably not the son eh? can someone please fill me in? I was shocked to see Sommer on again -- after kicking her off the show last time....updates about her too please - did she just come back? I quit watching this year due to school - but on leave from school right now (medical) so I am watching again and trying to catch up - please fill me in thanks!!!

Thank you everyone for the congrats on my loss this week. P'Nut's proposed challenge was just what I needed - who know?! yep - I'm actually going to put my pic up too - and start taking 'face' pictures - I guess we all hate our bodies lol congrats to everyone on the great losses this week! Had to share - daughter dragged me out for the day - I gave her my biscuit w/lunch, ate only chicken and a little bit of mashed potatoes (no gravy), ate 1/2 my dinner and boxed up the rest immediately (esp the bread-yikes!) and turned down sharing a brownie with my daughter - she now knows how serious I am about this and started running (I wish) on her treadmill again this week - it's contagious! yahoo! woo hoo I did it - got my picture up there - will change it every 10 lbs or so - that means a NEW picture very soon (giddy with excitement over 9.5 lbs lost in 8 days) Thank you EVERYONE for your ongoing support!!!

I decided this is the week of the UGLIES - moods, that is! I'm in a foul mood myself....private reasons. The challenge and weight are great - but heaven knows I totally understand everyone's mood. Cheer up everyone - there IS a new day tomorrow :grouphug:

You GO Dawg!!! I'm so encouraged - I am not banded either -- thanks to P'Nut's Spring Challenge I am losing - yea! Thanks for sharing!!! Emilee -- I'm like P'Nut as far as the heavier meal at lunch and the lighter meal at dinner. I eat A LOT of raw veggies -- yum.....and I eat something every single night w/medicines I have to take at night - and now that Spring Challenge is here I eat FRUIT only...... I figure - when you add your total calories for the day - in a 24 hour time period ONE more snack later at night is fine as long as it fits in with your goals -- nothing heavy, but something...... I do NOT snack throughout the night now - I used to and that's how I got here! So go for that 'one' snack - something healthy -- low calories -- and get online and chat - I too am up very late every night -- so come join me lol -it does help if dinner is done by at least 7pm -- a snack 4 hours later doesn't tend to effect my weight loss and settles my stomach from medicines

I just wanted to say thank you! for this Spring Challenge....it is changing my life! My diabetes is SO under control that my numbers are too low! I don't need to take the 2nd additional medicine before my meals since starting the challenge (I cheated and started a day early) It honestly is nothing short of amazing - in 3 days I have lost 6 lbs and my blood sugar is so low it's almost scary! This is the first time in my LIFE that I have lost more than 2 lbs in a week. Just had to share! Big shout out to P'Nut! :clap2: for the Awesome Challenge! (had to pick this picture - the bloated belly is from too much water!) :brick:

SKBishop....pssst pssst....only 1 point per day for Water (not 3) even if you WILL wear a diaper (like tellymelly) just an FYI I laughed till I cried tonite reading the posts - you are all hysterical -- especially because I DO need a diaper - I have never peed so much in the last two days from all the water! and I thought I was drinking alot of water before this!!!

Sorry it's so late - but I wanted to post my non-banded weight loss - the first in forever! Thanks to P'Nut's Spring Challenge! woo hoo - I started it the day it was posted (Tuesday) and lost two pounds! I definitely thrilled that today's weigh-in counts! It's my first real loss -- and no flour/sugar, I'm floating in water lol, and exercised (trudged on the treadmill) for 30 minutes (huge for me - with disability issues) Thank you for the challenge! It helps motivate that's for sure :clap2: C 276 (-2 this week)

Thanks for sharing this P'Nut! It confirms what my doctor has told me - though hard to understand it all. I DO know that my body definitely has issues with insulin -- this article helped me understand it even more - much appreciated. High protein - way less carbs is definitely a struggle for me - I have NEVER been a big meat eater so I have to get creative here and find better protein sources that I will actually eat! That said, your challenge for the GFG Club for May is a great jump-start for me to turn around the way I eat! I actually started today - a day early! I've even walked and counted water intake already and ate no sugar or flour - woo hoo! It is one awesome challenge!

Yep - I know how you ALL feel. I even wrote about the candy capers in my journal! I am not banded yet - but promised that there will be NO candy in the house this time next year. I'd have to commit chocolate suicide if it was near me LOL On the serious side - I truly find that if I buy candy for the kids that I don't like it works! and they LOVE toys - so more toys next year - and only candy they like - like yucky sour patch stuff -

Argg....Kathy, does that mean I have to face plateaus AFTER banding too?! wahhh....I am so tired of these up 2 lbs and down 2 lbs I could scream. Some day I'll be banded and won't like those plateaus....you go girl to 179! and go for the challenge - and the TT if you want one! This week I am UP 2 lbs that I lost last week....sigh...at least it is a 'different' two-pounds
