C 263.0 (-15.5 total, -.5 this week)

I'm NOT banded - but learning for myself and from people like Telly - I have to say - are you exercising??? if you are - that might be why inches are going but not pounds! Make sure the doctor knows that you are losing LOTS of inches and clothes sizes -- muscle weighs more than fat -- and you may be gaining healthy muscle and so it 'appears' you aren't losing fat...when you really are... I say all this because this is MY life too - even unbanded - my clothes are getting big on me - I've only lost 15 or so pounds - but the inches are falling off of me!
-
Woo hoo - P'Nut is back! Now maybe we'll get to posting again...it has been a LONG week girl....everybody must have been in your suitcase I figure.....lol
-
Dawg...you mentioned 'skin'....extra stuff....you have talked in the past about working out at the gym....I'm thinking that working out is the way to go - it will change the shape of your body and will give you a more realistic idea of what you want your goal weight to be....my sister recently lost over 100 lbs and worked at the gym 6 days/week and her goal weight was 20 lbs lower - after working out she changed it to 'at goal' and doesn't need to lose anymore weight....just food for thought....also-ya might want to talk with Telly - she's very into the working out 'image' and might have some good stuff to share with you

Donna -- we ALL go through moments like this....I LOVE ice cream! It is the ONLY food item I actually miss....so I planned for those crave moments and bought Slim-A-Bear NO SUGAR ice cream and also Weight Watchers has some awesome stuff too --- so go girl - to the nearest store and buy ice cream alternatives -- if it SITS in the freezer you probably won't even crave it anymore lol - works for me..... pssst....you really should fess up to your sweetie! He IS on your side - in this weight loss struggle - yes?!
-
Happy Birthday to you.......Happy Birthday to you.......Happy Birthday dear TrishS.........HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!! Have a great one!
-
Aw Lins - I'm so sorry you are going through this....will keep you in my prayers.....my daughter experienced her first panic attack ever after her boyfriend of 7 years broke up with her....and she was driving! Good you are going to the doctor......
-
Awesome Heather! Love the haircut---and your eyes - they POP!!! You are so pretty..... And yes indeed - with P'Nut gone - well let's just say that I thought maybe this thread fell into a sci-fi black hole........where has everyone gone?
-
Telly - I don't know how many of these fast food places exist in Greece lol - but it is helpful to remember what is and isn't good for us in general....
-
Welcome Gadgetlady! Jump on in..... Funny - woo hoo! awesome to shrink out of clothes eh! Lins - you did a great job while P'Nut has been gone - thanks!
-
Cool BeacheeGirl!!! Literati is my favorite game ....I WILL give you a hollar soon....my sweetie is starting to work nights on the weekend and it gets very boring....lol....adjusting to it -- I'd hollar tonite (Sat) but daughter will be here sleeping where my puter is - dang - lol.....promise I'll catch ya soon!
-
Funny....so sorry you are in a rough place right now....this too shall pass! Hang in there - the important thing is that everything will work out and surgery will go fine....good for u, buying a goal outfit! woo hoo! Emilee -- the same for you too! Hang in there girl - things will calm down...and life will get back on track, relax....you have done such an awesome job through it all - look at your total loss!!! It isn't an ALL or NOTHING moment....just a rough patch....it WILL get better!
-
A short 5'4 and my goal for now is 140...maybe a bit low but we shall see
-
PLEASE watch this video.....so you know the signs - THANK YOU Sandy for sharing this important information...can you please request that this be made a sticky?!
-
Woo Hoo Telly! Congrats on the big loss again this week....nice!
-
ROFL....reminds me of when our 8 year old was potty training....he wouldn't aim - just figured it would make it to the toilet - lol - it took forever to get him to 'touch' his penis lol -- so we had the opposite problem!
-
Paula - children will do that! LOL I have two grown and five 'inherited' children (I hate the word step) -- two inherited darlings are 8 and 16 - need I say they keep me running! I'm so exhausted at night - sitting on my butt and typing or playing games is about all I can manage -- so I hear you on the 3 kids lol! Oh and the bonus is my new best friend - she lives in Greece -we are 8 hours apart and it is fun and silly - when I am awake in the wee late hours she is just starting her day and we chat -- and when I barely have my eyes open she is winding down from her long day - it's fun - and we laugh alot! So maybe a good suggestion would be - find an international friend!!! It's challenging to find the right 'time' but it's also wonderful to learn about another way of living!
-
Hmmm the FIRST thing I do is this lol - LBT -- otherwise I play 'games' like pool and Literati ---I meet new people AND I do NOT eat if my fingers are busy! I also catch up on emailing friends - you know - those people who you 'forget' are alive and well when you are busy doing everything for everyone else the rest of the day! If I am not in the mood for computer time - then I read - I write poetry - I call up someone I haven't chatted with in a while - or I go for a walk. Sometimes I grab an old movie - something I've seen before but forgot I owned lol
-
I, too am hanging with Nelson Mandela and The Dalai Lama - I'm not surprised - but I do know that after gaining some new knowledge and insight from returning to college as an older adult - it changed my way of thinking. Economic Left/Right -7.75 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian -5.08
-
OOPS! sorry Emilee - you're right -- but still don't beat yourself up! lol Hang in there! Sorry Kristin.......hope you are feeling better now

C 263.5 (-15 total, -1 this week) Well after Protein shakes and bars all week one would think there would be more loss - kept up the exercise - go figure....but I'll take it. Emilee - there will be no blaming this week! lol - after the ER visit and all the craziness with your band life will go back to normal soon enough. Hang in there!
-
I'm not banded yet...but I had all different opinions....my PCP said he had quite a few patients with the band and said they were quite successful; my ob/gyne said she does not believe in WLS surgery, just eat healthy (easy for her to say); and my rheumatologist said she knew two patients who had it done (one was over 60 years of age) and she is extremely supportive but said it had to be my decision. So I think everyone is right - when doctors are informed about the band they support it. If they aren't informed - share the info with them!
-
Sheryl - you look great! keep up the good work! Lins12 - aren't we ALL addicted to food? lol ...on a serious note - it is awesome to have someone to talk to about our 'issues' and get back on track...congrats on being a smart lady and asking for help!
-
Sheryl - your protein shake with 'some' sugar is fine -- if you read back - maybe to page 2 of this thread P'Nut talks about the kinds of things meant by no sugar and flour Don't worry - drink your shake! and Welcome to the Club!

She is in my prayers Penni! My cousin experienced a stroke at the same age and she is doing very well today, just a few things glitch now and then.
