What's In Your Lunch Box
ChelleBelle35 replied to ChelleBelle35's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had some almond chicken the other day and I had no problem. I was told to hold off on the peanuts though. -

Tomorrow I am cleared to eat anything. What veggies did you eat first?
ChelleBelle35 replied to mamamac2's topic in Vegetarian or Vegan Eating
Im 4 weeks out as of Thursday and I have been able to tolerate lettuce, pickles, olives, tomatoes and green beans with ease. I have really come to like pickles and I was not a pickle eater before. Bread and butter are my favorite, then the straight up Dill. -

Thanks for sharing! You mentioned a key point which was the lack of access to heating or cooling elements. Something we dont always think about right away. And what a cool way to workout! Chicken Salad with Cranberries and Almonds. Id eat your lunch! -
I'm curious, whats in your lunch box? Being sleeved put the brakes on eating out as much as I use to. So, I've found myself packing my lunch waaaaay more than I use to. I bought a bag that I like and some colorful portion control containers. Which helps a lot. So what have you done to help with packing your lunch? What are your favorites, must have's, cant stands and OMG-I-wish-someone-would-have-told-me-sooner! for your lunch? Just trying to eat with an open mind and new options.

I regret this surgery
ChelleBelle35 replied to QueenTiff's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Keep your head up Sis! This is a journey that's affects all of us differently. We have the surgery in common but where it leads us to in our lives and how we feel about it is as individual as you get. Have you ever hear the saying "Eat the meat and spit out the bones."? That what you have to do with the negative comments. Take whats good and leave whats not. I respect and applaud you for sharing your ups and downs and being raw. Its doesn't always invite the kindest of people, but you put yourself out there anyway. You continue on knowing that you are helping the person who feels just like you do but is afraid to say anything for fear of being judged and called names just like you were. I will be one full month sleeved on the 14th and let me tell you, things have taken a turn for the positive. Im eating and drinking much better and I no longer dread my decision but am beginning to be aT peace with the new me. And yes, I do like watching the numbers going down on the scale. But I certainly didn't feel that way 3 weeks ago. Now, I find myself motivated to try eating in a different way. I said all that to say, be encouraged. And I hope that things are looking up for you a bit. -

I was hungry right away as well. It even wakes me up out of my sleep. I try to drink some water thinking maybe Im thirsty, but nope, its definitely hunger pangs. And intense ones too. Thank goodness the water does help, but I was surprised. I heard someone else suggest that perhaps its stomach acid, but either way, it feels just like what I've always felt. Difference is, when I d eat or drink, the sensation goes way pretty quickly and of course I'm full.

what to buy for preop
ChelleBelle35 replied to jchilion2589's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The goal of the prep op diet is to help you prepare for your dietary changes and to shrink your liver to reduce complications during your surgery. If your liver is too big, they may cancel the surgery. My pre op diet was no more than 30 carbs and no sugar. -

Also, the goal is nutrient dense foods/meals. I go to Pinterest for lots of food ideas.
