I'M FREAKING OUT!
trying4me replied to themaestroswife's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
It's normal to be afraid. ALL surgeries come with some pain. I recommend discussing your fears with you anesthesiologist the day of as well. I was done 8/31 and had lots of pain the first 3 days but it started after I was in my room and my surgery had some technical difficulties that made my incisions more painful. Also they did a spinal block as well which helped. This pain is a small price to pay for long-term success in my opinion. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app -
I have been reading a lot of posts and hear people talking about not peeing much. If this is you you must increase your water intake, back to the basics of 1oz every 15 min. You are most likely dehydrated, this could land you back in the hospital or worse in renal failure. Please take care of yourselves. [emoji4] Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

How are you getting your protein in?
trying4me replied to Hopefull2017's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I time and keep a running list. What kind of protein water do you like and where did you buy it? Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app -
How are you getting your protein in?
trying4me replied to Hopefull2017's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes I drink every 15 mins. Also I was advised to increase to 2-3 ounces as able. I try for 1/2 in the morning and half in the afternoon. As the shake gets too sweet, I made tomato soup with milk, it gives 5 protein per 1/2 cup. Doing this I am up to 40gm per day. You can also buy unflavored protein to add to liquids from GNC, I have tried that yet. Keep working on it. Let us know how you are doing. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app -
Is this what regret feels like or is just a phase?
trying4me replied to lessoflilo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I got some Hunts Sugar Free Jello and you can kinda chew it. Might be worth trying if you are desperate and Jello is allowed. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app -
I HAD to be screened, got a CPAP machine and use it religiously and brought it to the hospital. No on required me to wear it for a month pre surgery, they just asked me to commit to it, and I easily did as quality sleep is imperative to healing. You could also call back pulmonology and ask for an at home sleep study. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

August Sleevers-How are you doing??
trying4me replied to Ash_Bri85's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yes to this! Some just have large organs. My stomach was huge and it took more time to remove, also my liver was large but he didn't think it was diet related (I did milk diet for 3 weeks and cheated 1x in week 1). Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app -
August Sleevers-How are you doing??
trying4me replied to Ash_Bri85's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I get my water in by drinking 1oz ever 15 mins, more if I am not uncomfortable. I have been the water champ. Protein is harder so I stick with a shake a day (3oz per hour) that equals 30gm and tomato soup made with milk. Chew very well and use baby spoons to eat. If that doesn't help step back to liquids for a couple days and try again. I was sleeved 8/31 so still on liquids, but this is what my nut said. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app -
August Sleevers-How are you doing??
trying4me replied to Ash_Bri85's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Everyone with full face masks, can you talk to your supply company or sleep doctor to switch to nasal pillows? These are now the number 1 recommendation even in mouth breathing. I used to mouth breath because of apnea, I do great with the pillows and no excessive dry mouth. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app -
Drinking liquids with the sleeve
trying4me replied to Kristen117's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I notice an occasional cramp during drinking. I am 3 days post op. It passes quickly and mostly if I take too big of a sip. I had yogurt today, 1 ounce or medicine cup without symptoms. I am also gassy today, so that may be part of it. Just keep going slowly per recommendations of your surgeon. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app -
Final clearance and Now I dont qualify!!
trying4me replied to ukeka22's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I find it interesting that Pulmonary cleared you without a sleep study. I had NO symptoms of sleep apnea but my study showed I had severe apnea. Now I have CPAP. I would also call you insurance and ask for their requirements. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app -
Final clearance and Now I dont qualify!!
trying4me replied to ukeka22's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What is there reasoning for saying you probably won't be approved? And you should definitely get a sleep study. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app -

Sleeve surgery and Blood pressure -- WHY??
trying4me replied to GotProlactinoma's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Make sure you are breathing normally. Often if you are afraid to get a high number you might hold your breath. This increases interthorasic pressure and thus increases BP. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app -

Post-op fever, back pain and chills
trying4me replied to MsRiseAndGrind's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have had a mild fever but not past 99.1. The doctor needs to be notified, if there is infection it must be treated ASAP or you risk sepsis and that is very serious. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app -
Keep up the good work. I am about to nap. I think you mentioned your wife had this in May? How ling was her recovery? Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app
