  1. Sleeved on 9/5

    Starting weight 250

    Current weight 193

It's been a challenge but I am thankful. Advice: Find your daily Protein staples. Identify at least 2 people to be a support.

    Use a lunch box/bag.

Find fun in physical activities again. Learn your body again ( cravings, triggers) . Enter into this journey with a mindset to never look back.

    Pics coming soon!

  2. Finally time for my 6 months before and after pictures.
I have lost over 90 lbs.
A week ago I completed a Nordic Walking half marathon.
I have prevented a second back surgery, and life is pretty good.
I have under 15 lbs until I have a normal BMI. I started at 42.

  3. Hi, I'm new to the forum. I'm having bypass on September 5th. I'm excited, nervous and my mind is all over the place. Concentrating on any one thing is very difficult lately. I'm hoping and praying that all goes well for every one of us!

My sleeve is on the 5th! i wish you well!!

  5. I am just in the early phases (having consults with surgeons and beginning the 6-month medically supervised weight management program), but I decided to tell my boss as I knew I would be requesting time out of the office for various appointments. We have a good relationship, she is very supportive, and she agreed to keep it confidential. I trust her, and I am lucky for that. I think you would be fine telling your supervisor you're having a minor procedure--there's no reason you have to go into detail about private medical issues.
I also have a very good friend at work, and I've been talking with her about it as well. Other than that, I would prefer not to share with others at work, but I anticipate comments about my food and weight and am dreading dealing with that. Two people in my immediate vicinity talk about food and weight constantly, and even today, one of them loudly announced after walking past my office what I was eating for lunch, giving their approval for it being healthy...thanks, but no thanks, I'd just like to eat in peace.

I would say to them " if you were busy attending to your own health you wouldn't need to announce wtf im doing now and eating - so stop! " your much nicer than me... but maybe you could ask them for peace when your eating though.

  6. LOL "I must hold onto this" haha girl I feel ya, I sill lie on my drivers license...it still says 150lbs. Homegirl at the DMV just sitting there staring at me like "you sure that's your current weight?" [emoji15][emoji849] The joints thing is my excuse for shrinking in height while gaining in weight...I read it somewhere...makes sense though! I'm in Seattle [emoji561]

Lol. i would've given her a look that says " I dare you to question me..."[emoji87] [emoji48] (mind ya business and get me processed). hahaha
    I'm in Philadelphia!

  7. Yeah I used to be a gym rat eating Paleo and all that fun stuff for a couple years. Then ya know...life decided to be like "nah she doesn't need to be successful and healthy-let's throw some whack stuff at her" LOL! It's a cycle for me; 3-4 years of weight loss success then 1 year of crap and rebound weight gain. Again, Portion Control is my kryptonite. 🤦🏽‍♀️ [emoji23] Uhhh can I just say that our stats are like almost exactly the same?!

aargh, life...! thats what builds character when you go through stuff and you flip the bird and keep moving.
i know!!! i am just wanting to reach my goal weight. how tall r u? im so short! #yougothis #igotthis.

  8. Yasss! [emoji1430] foodies anonymous needs to be a thing! I feel like I'm doing weird stuff too, maybe because my brain knows something big is about to happen. The bread/pasta/cheese thing is gonna be a big breakup. I have no problems eating healthy, I've done it millions of times before...it's the volume thing that I have an issue with...and bread [emoji506] lol foodies anonymous confession [emoji30]

O M G TOO. i love cheese and breads. i eat at the wrong times and dont exercise enough. so i started walking 4 to 6 miles every other day and stopped buying bread for the house.

I was thinking that too.... Today all i wanted was a chicken sandwich lol before i have to leave bread alone. I had a quarter and shared the rest with this guy who was homeless and told him what i was about to embark lol. bless his heart; he listened and we had a foodies anonymous meeting right then and there.
