    August Sleevers-How are you doing??

    That was my life with my grandmother from Poland. - and carried with my mother. I can’t tell you how many times food was moved from in front of me or how many times I was told to push away the table. Looking back at pictures, I wasn’t even that fat! They tortured me- funny. Thought it was just the girls. They were always feeding my brothers. Me- if I wasn’t thin, I would never get married and be a spinster. HW. 289 SW. 284 Height. 5’8

    Wow 30 carbs a day is low. I can barely do 50. Can you share what you eat to get carbs that low? I’m not losing so much so need to switch things up. Getting depressed as I thought I’d be much less by now. CW. 231. Boo HW. 289 SW. 284 Height. 5’8

    It’s NOT a DIET!

    Ya. My skinny friends all diet every day. - they watch everything they eat. Exercise. Drink juice cleanses. Do protein shakes and bars. Only indulge once in a blu moon if at all. Their diet is their lifestyle. And even though they have only needed to lose after baby weight gain- they live by the newest diets and exercise craze ( right now it’s peleton) - WW, Atkins , whole food—. They have done them all. They are just way better at dieting then I was! I consider myself on a diet. Because that’s what it is. So true about ‘mindset’ code word for making good choices. The newest code word is ‘grit’ - for not giving up. Whatever works works. Obviously we are trying to make good choices to that our life changes - hence lifestyle changes. - and dieting gives structure which for me helps with making the right choice or only choice.   4. WHAT THE HELL! Had foot surgery. Couldn’t move for 10 days. Lost 3 pounds. Now 4 th day back to barre class since I can only do floor exercises- and I’m back up 3 pounds. I’m pissed. Taking uber back and forth. (Can’t drive) Crutches. Med Boot. Looking crazy modifying exercises- walking through snow. Freezing temps and sleet. Where’s the justification? SOMEONE GIVE ME SOME HOPE. Today I upped my water and protein. And lowered my carbs. This is stressing me out! HW. 289 SW. 284 Height. 5’8

    On The Fence of Joining a Gym

    What’s the weather? Up here in the northeast I’m only exercising indoors now. I go to !pay as you go’ places so no membership. I’m sure there are student discounts for those type of places ( Barre, spin, yoga, etc ). I do like the walking idea! If you have good weather it’s the best and the Fitbit is great too or you can just get a tracker app on your phone. Good luck! HW. 289 SW. 284 Height. 5’8
  8. My parents did a number on me in the 70s and 80s being the food police. I wasn’t even fat back then just hungry and stressed from them moving food away from me and yelling about my looks! I was just a kid and teenager. They were in the age of looks are more important than smarts for girls. So dumb. I was a gorgeous kid but always thought I was ugly and a cow because of them. I walked around sucking in my stomach. So no. FOOD POLICE SUCK! I HW. 289 SW. 284 Height. 5’8

    Food Game--Let's Dish!

    I’m a huge cook ( and baker). BUT unless a holiday meal I’m spending 20 min preparing if not less- too tired with work and kids at the end of the day. Now that I’ve lost 60 pounds I have tons of energy and exercise is easier ( although not with recent foot surgery). I will cook from scratch and double to freeze 1/2 as I work full time. If I make meat balls ( 1/2 turkey 1/2 beef) I’ll also make a shepherd’s pie and freeze one for another day. I will also make lots of soups and sauces and always freezing. I make veggi soups with all my left over veggies, boxed chick stock and crushed tomatoes - maybe add beans and spices- so easy and delish. also make a lot of foods I can reuse. I’ll make grilled/ baked salmon and the next day I’ll use leftover salmon in a quinoa bowl with feta and avocado. I’ll bake potatoes and have ‘salad bar’ toppings with beans cheese protein. So today I threw a frozen raw brisket in my crockpot and layered with frozen sauce I made back in sept. I’ll make a salad and dinner done for my family. Woohoo! HW. 289 SW. 284 Height. 5’8

    Doing my abs at barre class. Goes much faster to great music! And I have a broken foot! But since going back to barre class since foot surgery I gained 3 pounds. Really annoying. Hoping it’s a little muscle gain since I definitely lost muscle after the foot surgery. But I really hate gaining esp. when I know I’m doing everything right. HW. 289 SW. 284 Height. 5’8

    Thinning hair

    My hair used to be awesome- now is dry and much thinner. I hate seeing my brush in the shower full of hair. 4.5 mos out. Hoping it goes back to normal ....soooon HW. 289 SW. 284 Height. 5’8

    Naughty days?

    Enjoy your babies and your new body. I have 3. Gained and lost 80 with all 3. Then gradually came back to gain 80 because of stress causing me to not care anymore about food coming into my body. Although I ate healthy- salads protein healthy carbs- my portions were huge. ( plus had to go back to work full time for financial reasons- so no time to exercise like I used to. ) that’s how I gained weight. Gained weight. I also was never thin to begin with so before 80 pounds weight gain I was a Sz 12 looking voluptuous and quite happy- but at + 80 I was a cow! Too tired to wake up at 5:30 am to work out before job- then family stuff after work day. Now that I’ve lost over 60 pounds I have more energy to exercise and energy to wake up early. But kids are hard- always food around. Always cooking baking and packing lunches. I have def shared a bite here and there and even a slice of pizza at times. I try to do the best most of the time but do like to feel normal. Since I’m not a binge eater nor do I have food issues- just enjoy food and had a big appetite- the sleeve is working well for me as my portions are so much smaller and I don’t get sick with any foods so I do w joy food. ( except Chinese - which I don’t enjoy anyway). Im thinking you are similar to me so wanted to reassure you that it sounds like you are back on the right track again! You can do it!   15. You look cool, young and gorge. You are like me. No one (dr. Ect) can ever believe how much I weigh. Right now I’m at 228 and 5’8 and I’m told I look thin (!). Obviously I’m not at this weight. My dad always said I had heavy bones and weigh more than I look. I have always exercised so I do have muscle - but I’m definitely fat. My goal is around your weight and can’t wait. My calfs are too wide for tall boots and I’m hoping that at the 180s they will shrink. That will be my first purchase. CONGRATS! HW. 289 SW. 284 Height. 5’8

    Is this really going to work?!?!

    I feel like I won’t lose it all too. But I’ve lost over 60 since August. I just feel like I get to a number ( 215) and then never get below that. Like my body is afraid to get lower so I don’t let it. I want it but maybe I’m scared. Really messed up. I’m at 228 right now and want to get to 180. Just had bunion surgery so can’t do cardio but getting back into barre classes on one leg ( hee hee). And have to uber there and back- so at least I. Trying!     Ya! 228 today. Foot surgery so on my butt all day and snow storm so lots of food and kids around. I thought I’d have 2 weeks with out kids before I went back to work- but no- cooking and around food all day- and no school tomorrow either. Boo! I do have to say I did a ‘leg cast’ workout from YouTube today. HW. 289 SW. 284 Height. 5’8

    Naughty days?

    I have had naughtiness in moderation - mostly I stay in track. I eat low carbs- less than 50 g, High protein, veggies. Today I ate a banana and I felt guilty. Now that’s dumb. I had a craving for a banana. Oh well. Other times- chocolate or a little ice cream. I bite of my kids’ dessert etc. For me, I would get really depressed if I refused every little yummy taste. If I feel I had a too carb day I try limiting carbs the next day and that helps me get on track. Right now I’m recovering from foot surgery so I am home and not that perfect. Not exercising like I had and feeling lousy. But I know that in two weeks I’ll be able to do more and by spring I will not be in foot pain which I’m super excited about. I have also lost a few pounds so I’m hoping to just not lose a little during this month of recovery. Your post has made me try to be better tomorrow. Thank you! HW. 289 SW. 284 Height. 5’8
