August Sleevers-How are you doing??
SFCA replied to Ash_Bri85's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My surgery was on 8/22/17, and I've lost about 46 pounds/21 kg, which seems to be lagging compared to others who have posted here who had surgery last August. The rate of my weight loss slowed down a lot in October and November. However, I have not regained any of the weight lost. So the past week I've refocused on exercise and being more careful about my diet. Hopefully, the loss rate will pick up again. -
You know you lost weight when

Getting ready for ski season, I dug out a parka that I bought ten years ago (and I was heavy 10 years ago), and it is 1-2 sizes too big. -
Same concern here. I've started to really focus on chest exercises, and that's helping. I've also started to consciously work on my posture. When I was heaiver, I developed a terrible slouch, which also had the unfortunate effect of making the moobs seem even more flabby.

I've noticed that too with my watches. I now have to wear them on the third notch if not smaller. -
My story is pretty typical. I have been overweight most of my life except for the few times I went on crash diets, lost a lot of weight, only to regain it back and more. My peak weight (or maybe it was the nadir) was when I hit 292 last January. I'm a 5'11" 48 yo male who should weigh 190. I was pretty depressed and didn't want to socialize or even leave the house except for work. I also had hypertension and was prediabetic. I still can't believe I didn't have full blown diabetes. I made the decision to have a VSG in March, and the surgery was this past Tuesday, August 22, 2017. I'm not hungry but the protein shakes are a bit of a drag. I even put one in a martini glass to make it seem better. My mood is fair at this point. Glad to find this forum to connect with folks on similar paths.

A really great looking swimming suit, and not being embarrassed to wear it at the beach, pool, etc. -
