i was banded on december 19th and I had my 2 week post op yesterday, I will have my first fill in two weeks yeah... I sure need it. I am now able to eat soft foods and I will work up to regular meals by the time I have my first fill. I too am hungry but I am resisting that temptation to eat more. So I make sure I have the right proportions ... Just taking it one day at a time. Oh and I joined snap fitness today so start working out on Monday... Im excited I think once I start working out and I keep busy then I wont think of food as much.. lol I started at 215 lbs and Now weigh 195 my goal weight is 130 lbs.

Scared and in need of some answers
jewels41 replied to Kuma72's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
everyone is different, I took my pain meds for only the first day and then the second day. after that I was fine. I slept in my recliner much easier for me. It was hard to lay on either side the first few nights. then i used a pilow on my left side and that went great. I now can sleep on my sides with no pain. I was banded december 19th. Trust me there is honestly nothing to worry about. I had gas pains in my chest that felt horrible but only for 1 day. I just used a gas x strip worked better for me than chewables. I got myself more worked up about the gas pains than what was necessary. But we are all different. My incisions are looking beautiful... almost all healed on the outside... goodluck to you let me know how things are going anytime julie -
5-10 things you wished you had bought PreOp
jewels41 replied to itschoice's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Get your Pain Meds ahead of time ask the nurse from your clinic to get these ready for you the day before..... unless a friend can get them at the hospital for you. gas x didnt need till 2 days after myself pillow for the ride home tylenol liquid My meds that I needed to have just in case they keep you longer than expected. sweat pants and no bra what for !! tshirt and a zippered sweatshirt . If you have your period bring tampons or pads. the hospital made me wear a tampon for surgery glad I brought my own... they had those icky cardboard ones.. they gave me my own slipper socks to wear so I just kept those on. I wore my easiest footwear. I live in wisconsin so wore my winter boots. goodluck Julie in wisconsin -

Weight loss and when to start working out???
jewels41 replied to KTATOM's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My dietician would take out this blob of fat put it on her desk and say Julie you are doing great just imagine 13lbs of this is what you have lost and thats alot... she said to stop being disappointed in myself for not losing as much as I thought I should lose. everybody loses weight at different rates. so be proud of yourself you are doing excellent... glad to hear that we are all healing. this was the first night i actually slept in my bed boy did that feel good, but woke up with some pain but not bad figured it was time to get up then. and yes it sure is different what some ppl can have after so many days... I am still on liquids until january 5th then to puree'd foods, my surgeon told me althought I could have a potato for xmas or yams.. lol wow how nice huh but still on liquids but thats ok need to heal without tearing my stomach pouch with food at this point.

I was banded yesterday and doing well. I had my surgery at 8:30 am and I had to stay until I was feeling better. Well I got dizzy way too many times and wanted to vomit but I didnt they thought that the surgery dehydrated me which they found it had so they hydrated me .. six iv bags later with sodium chloride and I was much more stable to go home and no more dizziness or that feeling that I wanted to vomit. So finally at 8:30 p.m. I got to go home.. yeah .. Now today Im doing fine walking alot no gas pains other than what I call my normal gas pains.. have been burping and able to pass gas easily with no problem.. so Im doing well and hope everyone else who was banded yesterday is doing well too.. oh and they weighed me before surgery I have lost 14.5 lbs on my liquid diet..

Hi Tameka, I started my journey at the end of april and I am being banded this friday 12/19. They say it can take up to a year to be banded. So for me it took 8 months so almost a year. Patience is something I am not great on but I sure learned that I had to do what they wanted me to do. six dietician visits my psyche eval, my physicals, blood work , ekg's etc etc... takes time it will happen just keep positive Julie
