August Sleevers-How are you doing??
expectopatronum replied to Ash_Bri85's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
So the day you go under the knife or the day you start the pre-op diet plan? That was very different for me. Not trying to be dense, this just has me a little alarmed. Sent from my SM-G935T using BariatricPal mobile app -

Wow, I'm about 10 lbs from that right now at 3 months. I wonder if that is your weight at surgery or before getting into a program. If I use my day of surgery weight, I'm nowhere close to where I should be! -

Your journey is yours! Own it! Also, my surgeon said that men tend to lose faster than women, so that could contribute as well. We each have our own journeys. -

August Sleevers - How are you doing?
expectopatronum replied to Sleeved in DFW :-)'s topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I think perfectionism is the road to misery. 90% is good! I would say track everything, even the M&Ms, so you get a very accurate picture of how often the sweet tooth strikes. If it's really only rarely, like once a month or something, I don't think that's a big deal. But if you perceive it to be once in a while and your tracking says it's every other day, then there is a bigger issue at work. For me, I went out with friends the other day and had some pumpkin pie! It was amazing. But it definitely isn't something I would want to get in the habit of eating. And if you can't moderate like that, then it's better to take a break from it for a while. Hope that helps. HW 419 (Jan 2017) SW 361 CW 329 GW 219 Sent from my SM-G935T using BariatricPal mobile app -

I was August 16. I am losing very slowly, although the past couple of days have not been the best for me nutrition wise. HW: 419 SW: 361 CW: 331 GW: 219 Sent from my SM-G935T using BariatricPal mobile app

I might get negative comments for this, but have you tried eating until you do feel full and just measuring how much that takes? And really feeling what full feels like for you now? That is generally what I have been doing and it is satisfying to me. As long as you follow your eating plan, EAT SLOWLY and actually stop when you feel full, that could help. It's all about how everyday choices add up. Keep making those good choices and stick with your eating plan and you can weather any bump. Sent from my SM-G935T using BariatricPal mobile app

One bit of ice cream won't screw anything up. You just can't make it regular. Sent from my SM-G935T using BariatricPal mobile app

I do this too! One thing I try to tell myself is that I can get seconds. If I tell myself there is nothing stopping me from refilling my plate, that helps me get over that block, because when the time comes I am too full to actually do it. -

I was told less than 50 carbs but calories are about right. May depend on your height. Sent from my SM-G935T using BariatricPal mobile app -

My doctor said it was for fear of swallowing it, because it could get stuck or something like that. I have thankfully never been much of a gum chewer.
