LET'S TACKLE FALL CHALLENGE
readytorunagain replied to Dashofpixiedust8's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Cw: 203.2 I am going back and forth between 200 and 203.2. I'm about 4 weeks out. Is this normal? I thought I'd still be losing. Especially walking close to 4.5 - 5 miles per day. Sent from my SM-G935T using BariatricPal mobile app -
Protein and water
readytorunagain replied to AsianBeauty's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was on clear liquids in the hospital and day after. Then full liquids for two weeks after that. I had a difficult time with the liquids in the first week. I can't imagine eating tuna or eating at all. I am on my fourth week and I get full quickly. I can still feel the water get stuck if I drink too quickly. Same with foods. I'm just starting on fish, chicken and beans w/cheese and I eat very slowly and chew alot so I don't get that feeling. Sent from my SM-G935T using BariatricPal mobile app -
How did you guys do on your pre op diet?
readytorunagain replied to Road2health's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It was difficult. That discipline is needed for post op too. Keep that in mind. I had headaches and was very week on preop diet. I am now 4 weeks post op and have pretty much forgotten all about preop. It's worth it to stay the course. Good luck. There's a light at the end of the tunnel. August Sleevers-How are you doing??
readytorunagain replied to Ash_Bri85's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I haven't been able to reach 10,000 a day yet. I'm hovering around 8 to 9,000. Because I have work in the morning to afternoon and then school at night, I sit so much. I'm going out of my way now just to get what I have been accomplishing. I came to the realization that I just may not be able to hot the mark until I can up my speed a bit. I'm just not there yet. Keep up the great work. Don't you feel better after walking? I know I do amd sometimes I don't want to stop buy my body disagrees with my mind. -

August Sleevers-How are you doing??
readytorunagain replied to Ash_Bri85's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Doc says I can start stage 4 soft foods today. I cannot find anything appealing to eat. I'm nervous as hell. I'm also tired of the same old foods. I'm making crockpot lasagna in the crockpot for the family. I was thinking about swiping some of the ricotta and sauce out of it when it's done. I'm afraid too though. Anyone have suggestions? I've had my fill of cream soups, egg whites, SF pudding, I do not like jello and drinking anymore of the protein shake today is not appealing at all. -
Cost of Psychiatric Evaluation ??
readytorunagain replied to mzsantiago88's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Also just a thought but most insurance companies have a care coordinator of some sort. Call them and ask to speak with that person. Does your insurance cover "mental health" at all? If your insurance requires a psych eval then they should have some e they can send you too. Keep trying. Sent from my SM-G935T using BariatricPal mobile app -

readytorunagain replied to mzsantiago88's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Her name is Karen Jordan. She is a bariatric certified psychologist. The name of her program is B.E.A.T. She requires 2 visits for her evaluations. She's very nice. 856-309-1363 Sent from my SM-G935T using BariatricPal mobile app -
Quitting is very difficult. After having surgery I have NOT had urges. I'm grateful because I was afraid I wouldn't stay quit.

I used an in-network psych. Only had co-payments. Call your insurance company. I live in s. Jersey and used someone who was approved through my insurance. -

The fact that the counselor is bringing up negative experiences that are personal to get shoes her inability to be free of bias. I'd probably tell her that too. Just because those things happened to people in her life doesn't mean it will happen to you. Find another counselor. Sent from my SM-G935T using BariatricPal mobile app -

stupid people
readytorunagain replied to willowwaters's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
As far as the men, hell.....there are way too many out there to worry about the ones that say they won't talk to you. You'd probably want one that would like to keep himself healthy so you would compliment each other. -

Woman! Do what is best for you and be secure in your decision. I understand what you mean about judgements. People would say to Me "but your not even big." I hated that. I wouldn't say that to anyone. It's about my health and obviously "big" enough to have comorbidities amd I was living my life in pain and sheltered. I was sleeved on 8/28 and I already feel solo much better and off my meds. You do not need to justify your decision. My psych three things at me too. I ignored her and stuck to my plan. Keep it moving in the direction you want to go in. -
I slipped up, too, preop. I didn't worry about the nicotine in my system so much as just not smoking. The doctors didn't ask nor did they do any tests to dermine my nicotine levels. I am glad however that I quit. Ever since the surgery, I have NOT had one urge. I feel free. Hang in there.

28.4 lbs away from Onederland or is it "won"derland?!?
readytorunagain replied to Iconcinnity's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I'm seriously impressed woman. Keep it going. You are an inspiration. I lost 15 lbs preop. Surgery was on 8/28. I'm down another 16 lbs. Was just released today to pureed foods and to go back to the gym. I'm walking roughly 3 miles a day. I go back to work in another week so hoping to get a good routine in prior too. I am also in school at night. So, I do alot of sitting. I'm hoping I can get this weight off sooner than later. I'll try the couch25k program.. I did look into it years ago but never followed through. I feel like I can now. Thanks. Christine Sent from my SM-G935T using BariatricPal mobile app
