  1. I am researching on if it s good idea to have lap band if you have auto immune disorder? I don't have lupus or anything. I have ankylosing Spondylitis, which is a rheumdoit (spell?) arthritis. Anyone have autoimmune disorder and had the lapband? Thanks PIXIES

    Restrauant list?

HI. Is there a list of what you can have when eating out? On Mushies and solid stages? Restrauants such as Cracker Barrel, Applebee's, chinese, etc. Thanks in advance! Pixs
  4. Hi! I am just wondering. How has your getting banded had any impact on your grocery bill? Same? Higher? Lower? I am thinking it should be lower because of the amount of food we can eat so food should last longer? Just curious. Thanks! Pix:biggrin2:

    Lap band and autoimmune?

Thank you all! I asked Dr. Curry on the obesityhelp.com on the lapband message board and he responded. Here is what he said : We have a patient with ankylosing spondylitis, he is doing fine, no problems. Technically though I think the FDA label says that it is contra-indicated.

    Lap band and autoimmune?

Thank you!! My dad has Uclerative Colitis also. So I guess that means I got the gene from him! ... I dont have UC, though (at least not that I know of).. Yeah I had to learn how to spell ankylosing spondylitis. I will check those websites out! thanks again! :smile2:
  8. Hi! This is my first post here on this board. I am from Federal Way, WA I have a consultation in two weeks for lapband to see if its right for me. What to expect at the consultation? I was not referred, I just called them and made an appt and they gave me one, didn't ask if I was referred. My current doctor doesn't really know me, as I have new insurance as of January 08... my employer dropped the insurance I had been on 35 years so my old doctor really knew me and my history, and he was very supportive of me thinking about lapband a few years ago but the insurance did not cover it. I still have that email when i emailed my old doc asking about it, and he did type back "that is a reasonable consideration"..... luckily I still have that email, should I print it out and bring it with me to consultation? Oh yes, my current insurance covers it, just needs authorization. I have been overweight for 30 years with some weight loss, then gain it all back up plus more, then lose then gain back .. yo yo ... tried WW bunches of times, atkins, Jenny craig, South beach. The south beach diet was the best one I have been on ... and I'm attempting that again but its so hard with very little free time I have . and my place of employment is an oinkfest. Lots of food out there, but lately when there's an email announcing food, I simply delete it! LOL  For once I want to be thin in my life, want to experience life as a thin person, I know there is a thin person inside me screaming to get out!!! Thanks Pixies
