First of all, I support and answer questions, share my knowledge of complications and experience with complications of band. For the record, I did not go sleeve, I had the bypass. Lastly, you do not own the board, this is a public board.
-
I am blasting you for this, it has nothing to do with how much we eat....... after a few bites of dense Protein, I threw up.... but with junk food i can keep them down fine... it doesn't matter to me anymore now as my crapband is out now and I do not throw up anymore on dense protein!!!!!
-
HI there Yep I revised to bypass. Yep my insurance covered this, after appealing. I'm very happy I revised and have the crapband out of me. My teeth never ached. My teeth are fine, whew. but I"m mad at some people that are "successful" and looks down on us that are experiencing band failures. We did NOT fail the band. The band just doesn't work for everyone like my surgeon said.
-
Right on!! I'm glad you are doing better now, not vomiting ... I revised to bypass. Are you planning on revising?
-
Hallejuah! THank you for supporting me in this... it just sucks when some bandsters don't understand what some of us are going thru, ya know? Thanks sooo much for responding to my post. I'm just so glad not to be throwing up anymore!!!! I did not want to be considered a bulimic at all at work, and I was worried that people at work would think I was one!
-
Also food have not had chance to digest, turn into acidic juices before throwing up which can ruin teeth. My teeth, stomach etc are fine. My surgeon did not see any damages at all when he revised my surgery. He said it just did not work for me like it doesn't work for most people.

I have thrown up for TWO years!!!!! After I revised to bypass, I am not throwing up anymore and there are others that had revised from band to other wls have stopped throwing up as well. It is not a mental thing, it is band induced. I couldn't eat dense Protein without it coming back up. I did not have any damage.
-
Don't you all get it? Band causes us to be "bulimic" because we eat then throw up because we can't get it down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
then why did you say you fear she will still be one? Alot of people have revised from band to another WLS and they stopped throwing up. I know from my experience!!!
-
I was bulimic because of the band, but I had it removed and the lapband induced bulimia has gone away. You are implying this is self-inflicted. It is NOT!!!! I had revised from band to bypass and I no longer throw up. It isn't fun being bulimic and it was really stressful.

I had a fill yesterday. I haven't had a fill in about 10 months. I am on liquids for 2 days and gradually start on solids Friday. I can't remember, I can seem to get fluids down ok, just a little slower. Is this due to swelling? Also I am having some hiccups! FUN!
-
I believe I was given a little too much of a fill and may call for a slight unfill. I am having hard time getting/keeping liquids down (day 2 of 2 today)... and it takes forever to finish a bottle of Water since I have to sip. I also been having quite abit of hiccups. Last night a cuple times in bed, coughing and some liquids coming back up.... didn't taste acidic, though Should I call in for a slight unfill or ride it out and attempt mushies tomorrow? I have not had a fill in almost a year... and am at probably 6ccs now ....

Hi. I am wondering what the symptoms are for an erosion of the band? Im worried, I doubt I have it. I had some pain between my breasts and went to ER, don't know why. I see my surgeon on July 28th. He said my band looks perfect from the x-rays. He said if the pain continues he will order an endoscopy for erosion. I haven't had any pain since. I still have some restriction on and off depending on the time of month. I have researched for symptoms but the info are so conflicting so please explain to me very clearly what the symptoms are. Thanks!

What is your favorite non carbonated beverage?
pixiestix replied to ladybug on a mission's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I love VitaRain Water .. 4 flavors no sugar, no carb, no cals, no carbnation. Comes in Tropical Mango, Raspberry Green Tea, Dragonfruit and strawberry Kiwi. It comes in a case of 24 and can be found at costco. (Kirkland brand) Also I love my ginger green tea. -
UPdated: I had the same pain hit me again 7/19 so I went to urgent care, it turned out that I had gallstones, so I saw my surgeon and he did the surgery that same day plus he did an endoscopy at the same time to check my band. My band is just great and my gallbladder is gone. He said that the gallbladder was very inflammed.

pixiestix posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have to admit that I am in a huge rut, due to time, money, conveience, etc. I have been eating same thing everyday for lunch for maybe a year or so (YIKES!) ... aidells meatballs and edamane Beans. I am bored with it, yet it is very easy. I also wonder if you eat it everyday .. it could become a slider food? I notice that I am not really satiffied.... I need suggestions for lunch and dinner.... Today I am trying something different for lunch,, brought bbq pork with some dipping bbq sauce. Thanks! :frown: Edited to add: I emailed my NUT yesterday and she suggested making bean salad, and adding tuna or chicken to it. Any good bean salad receipes? -

I love my ginger tea. I use 2 scoops from 4c green tea light with lemon and honey (www.4c.com), add 8oz fresh ginger juice (put ginger root in juicer) and 5-6 squeezed lemons. Mix it all up. It's sooo delish!!! :smile2:

Dr. Jeffrey Landers - Meeting Dr. Landers--first time tomorrow
pixiestix replied to SkinnyMe206's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I had lapband surgery on 1/28/2009 with Dr. Landers. He is a wonderful surgeon. I am so glad I got him instead of Dr. Bock. I am not too fond of Dr. Bock based on what I heard about him. Dr. Landers comes from a family with history of morbid obesity and he was 50 lbs overweight himself too so I think that's where he got his love for weight loss surgery and wants to help people. When I first met him, I think he was inexperienced having a deaf patient (yep, I'm deaf), because when he started to look at my stomach, he asked me if I wanted the interpreter to leave the room, I wanted to laugh but I didn't. I thought it was sweet that he wanted to respect me. He took really good care of me during my surgery. I woke up to his smiling face in the recovery room. I did not feel pain until I scooted over to the hospital bed from the wheeling table then it hurt. The only time I was in pain was when getting in and out of bed, bending down to pee, getting in and out of car. But no pain when walking, and I walked normally and the nurse had to tell me to slow down. I did not feel sick or anything at all, in fact I never napped at all that day/night in the hospital. I stayed overnight. I woke up in recovery room at approximately 11:50 am and to my room at almost 1230 or so. I did not have any naps until 1145 pm, the pain killers did not knock me out till the nurse gave me a much stronger one at 11:45 pm which really knocked me out. I drove the 2nd night after my surgery because I was bored to tears and wanted a new book from Borders on a Friday night! LOL I have seen him 3 times since and will see him again on July 22nd. I think I am in need of fill but I am travelling next week so that will be an issue and he did not have any appts. available this week except with PA and I refuse to see Bock or PA. I do not allow any PA (physician assistant) to touch me except in orthopedics based on my bad experience in the Urgent Care back in 2006 related to my back problems and he was very uncaring and pratically threw me out and thew me a bottle of pain killers. That's all I can say about Dr. Landers. He is a wonderful surgeon and I am glad he joined Group Health as I, too, am an employee for Group Health! Group Health rocks! -
