Hello Brenda (NeverB4), All I can say is God is Good!!! This whole experience thus far has been a blessing. The gas pain was probably the most unexpected and I'm so glad I am past that stage. I think the hardest part for me to get through was the food stages because not being able to eat solids for a month has made me appreciate food and making the right choices to eating more healthy. NO REGRETS....I was never to successful in loosing weight and I am so thankful for this procedure, it surely has been a God Send. How have things been going for you, how are you feeling?

Actually, I go for my first fill on May 15th. I can't wait. I have been very cautious of my calories during this stage because I feel that I am able to eat more than I should and I am hungry more often so I spread out my calorie intake. It is to my understanding that my band came with a small amount of fill and for that I am thankful. I have a question for you, I noticed your fill dates, is that the norm? I'm just trying to figure out what to expect. I never asked my Dr. what size band I have.

One day out and going strong!

Hi everyone, I had my surgery on 3/31 by Dr. Carlos Barba all went well yahoo!!!! Stayed in the hospital overnight the anethesia had me out of it for a while I was very tired and sleepy. The next day I felt like crap, I was very sore and the hospital bed was very uncomfortable to be getting in and out of because they wanted you to get some walking in wether it's going to the bathroom or walking around the floor. I wasn't discharged until the evening, I had to wait on the upper gi x-ray to make sure there were no leaks in the incisions and that everything was going down smoothly. I am at home and I'm taking it very slow. I have quite a bit of rumbling going on in my stomach and now my gas is starting to release itself, no unusual gas pains though, yippie. I forgot to get my Protein powder from the doctors office but I had some Optifast shakes left so the nutritionalist said that would be okay until I can get to the office to get my powder. I haven't really been hungry. I've been forcing myself to get in my fluids and occasionally about an ounce or two of sugar free Jello. I'm looking forward to the day that I can taste some real food oh yeah I had to do a two week pre-op as well. My doctor let me replace to shakes with some chicken noodle soup and a couple of oyster crakers thank God for that. I did cheat a couple of times with about five potato chips each time I don't know but for somereason I was craving chips. Didn't affect my surgery (thank God) however, I wish I hadn't strayed at all just so that I can say I did all liquids ooh well. Good luck to all and I wish you all the best of luck on your journey.
